In a string of royal decrees and an overarching new piece of legislation to deal with terrorism generally, the Saudi King Abdullah has clamped down on all forms of political dissent and protests that could "harm public order". The new laws have largely been brought in to combat the growing number of Saudis travelling to take part in the civil war in Syria, who have previously returned with newfound training and ideas about overthrowing the monarchy. To that end, King Abdullah issued Royal Decree 44, which criminalises "participating in hostilities outside the kingdom" with prison sentences of between three and 20 years, Human Rights Watch said. Yet last month further regulations were issued by the Saudi interior ministry, identifying a broad list of groups which the government considers to be terrorist organisations - including the Muslim Brotherhood. Article one of the new provisions defines terrorism as "calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".
Hide your fedoras, the stones are heading your way.
Still living in 965 BC I see
Note to self: Don't go spending your europoor tourist money in Saudi Arabia.
Hide your fedoras, the stones are heading your way.
In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, Of bloodloss.
Note to self: Don't go spending your europoor tourist money in Saudi Arabia.
I honestly dont know why would anyone go there unless they're really loaded and can afford the best places. Otherwise, what if you end up in a place where your chances of getting beheaded are like 60% or something?
Note to self: Don't go spending your europoor tourist money in Saudi Arabia.
I'm sure they will be happy with the money you spend on them through simply driving a car or using plastics.
And this is the country currently heading the UN Human Rights Panel. [editline]28th September 2015[/editline] It's apparently just a formality, but how the fuck are they even allowed to stand in there on equal level as other countries?!

Still though, it's their country. I'm not in a place to critisize.
I'm sure they will be happy with the money you spend on them through simply driving a car or using plastics.
True that though, with the difference being that I'm not leading my country and directly opting to buy oil from them. Or, however everything works. Jesus. In that sense it's also literally impossible to be vegan.
Still though, it's their country. I'm not in a place to critisize.
Yes you are, we're all part of the human race, and the larger globe of governments. It is within your rights to criticize anything any anyone, especially if for moral or human rights issues.
Is Abdullah at despot status yet? When are we going in? There is oil at stake here!!
Still though, it's their country. I'm not in a place to critisize.
The same logic could be applied to Nazi Germany and the Final Solution. It's our right as human beings to criticise those who see fit to blatantly abuse others of our own species. If we don't then who will?
And this is the country currently heading the UN Human Rights Panel.
And just days after the announce they beheading and crucification of a political dissident. What an utterly shit nation and culture.
Lmao literal thought crime.
Saudi Arabia bans Reddit users from entering their country.
Saudi Arabia is less radical version of ISIS, with lots of oil money. As soon as we drop oil usage, they will start losing their money and power. Just my opinion...

These are our allies, the ones which we must always listen, no matter how wrong they are. If only the mass media talked about this like they do with NK or China...
as much as the future development of green technologies to combat oil goes, I don't think that's how SA sustains. Don't they sustain the most from the influx of yearly people traveling to see Mecca, and the uhm- other holy or blessed rock or whatever it is. Wasn't that their main motivation behind not letting in any refugees? Because the blank camp spaces they had were reserved for Mecca tourists?
Well, guess what country is gonna lose the tourism race? It'll at least take a dent, considering that they have Mecca.
"calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".
Just wanted to bold this, in SA the Wahabbi religious establishment is pretty close to the royal family so questioning the religion is the same as questioning the validity of the Saudi state, this could be used to prosecute not just atheists, but to claim that anyone who is against the government is an apostate wich is punishible by death.
How the fuck are we allied with these guys
How the fuck are we allied with these guys
oil
Is Abdullah at despot status yet? When are we going in? There is oil at stake here!!
Basically they don't exploit their own homegrow population. Most saudis have very good life and essentially live in an extremely great socialised system. Instead they're exploiting "guest populations". Which means saudi citizens are on pretty good terms with their government for the most part.
So if I'm about to go on some terrorist shenanigans, do I just shout, "Praise Science!" or "Praise Richard Dawkins!" ?
العلم هو عظيم
Still living in 965 BC I see
well... islam didnt exist then...
I'd like to go to all theses nice tourist attractions you've built in Saudi Arabia however.. I think i'll watch their tourist industry grind to a halt.

Isn't Ali Mohammed al-Nimr a Saudi?
