• PC/Components not switching on - MOBO light flashing but no POST sound.

When I try to power on with everything un-plugged from power except CPU and MOBO nothing happens at all. If I hold the power button down the MOBO light begins to flash - but nothing switches on including the PSU (tried 2 different PSU's) Starting to think the mobo has fried, suggestions?
New mobo, same problem, cable short?? I'm trying to test everything at the moment but I'm not having much luck. edit with all cables removed bar cpu and mobo still nothing - tried all 4 RAM sticks. CPU fault?????
Make sure there is no short between the mobo and the case, double check your stand-offs or better yet try it outside of the case, also make sure the 4 or 8 pin CPU power connector is plugged in correctly. Did this suddenly occur or is this a new build ?
Suddenly occured after almost a year of being fine
I would suspect the mobo then, there is a tiny chance it's the processor but if you don't have another mobo or CPU to test it'll be much cheaper to buy a new mobo than a new processor. Does it have a PC speaker installed on the mobo, because you'll not hear any POST beep if you don't have one.

I had a similar issue of my cousin's PC simply not booting - in the end of turned out that the CPU had killed itself after working fine for a year, so yeah, it happens. If you have access to a different CPU, I'd definitely try that out, even if it means taking it out of a different build or whatever. But it's weird that not even your PSU is turning on, it could also be that. Try a different one, and even though it's not a clear indication that it works, you could also try taking it out of the build and short out the pins to make it turn on.
Could have the power button unplugged, could even have the PSU set to off (0)/1 sounds like a stupid obvious thing but that can happen. I remember my PC not turning on because of an incorrectly plugged in GPU. Easy shit really.
