Federal investigators are looking into allegations that Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) wife, Jane Sanders, falsified loan documents while she served as the president of Burlington College, according to multiple reports. The small Vermont liberal arts school closed down in May 2016, after going bankrupt and failing to meet accreditation standards.
The college began to face financial difficulties during Sanders's tenure from 2004 to 2011, falling $10 million into debt when the school purchased a new campus in 2010.
I really hope this doesn't hurt Bernie Sanders career right now, the country needs him.
We can't let things like treason or sexual assault affect certain politicians reputations, but we're allowed to use things that a Senator's wife does to convince people to not like him. Stay classy US.
I sincerely hope that if proven guilty that he's not involved with it, regardless of how much I like Bernie shame on him if he was.
Lock her up?
Gotta agree. There shouldn't be any exclusions to investigations. If Jane is guilty, she's guilty. And if Bernie was complicit, then unfortunately he must be charged as well.
I certainly hope it isn't the case.
Not to tin foil, but Comey gets fired, threatened, and now here's a nice new story about a popular senator to distract everyone. The timing just seems really odd.

Actually no, some sources actually had this story earlier like a month eariler, but they felt shady, turns out this was true.

This story is so small it couldn't distract anyone from the shitstorm unfolding right now
the burlington college thing is sort of a bad story for her, like the place was going out of business unless they modernized so they gambled on a new main campus and it backfired so they ended up going under. they were like a non traditional college or something so their recruitment rate was really really low
I hope justice is done correctly and fairly. We can't take sides just because it's a popular person's spouse. That's how celebrities get away with crimes
the sad thing about this is even if Trump was found guilty of high treason and Jane was innocent of anything, there are people out there who would still use this investigation as some kind of huge argument against Sanders
For the sake of everyone I hope the right thing happens, and if she did it she gets canned for it, if not, she is fine
Damn. I met her in NH during the concession rally and she seemed very friendly. It would be a shame if this turned out to be true, but hey, it is what it is.

As long as it's not your idol being challenged.

I don't think most people are actually going to take sides here. His supporters will hope that Bernie's at least not complicit in the crime, if not his wife being innocent herself. But that doesn't mean they're willing to let them get away with it if one or both of them is actually guilty. Personally I think that if either are guilty then they need to face proper charges for their crime.

Of course they'd face charges for their crime, they're not nearly as rich enough to buy their way out of punishment.
Remember that these are just allegations. There's absolutely no certainty yet that they are true or false. Anyone trying to use this as evidence of wrongdoing by her or even worse, her husband, are simply hacks trying to fool people. Innocent before proven guilty remember?
