annotations on will show some things labelled "FINAL" and "DEMO" were originally mislabelled (in the middle of the video) but you should be able to tell what's what: the demo looks way better than the final. baffling.
what the hell
How the hell does that even happen? How do you make your graphics worse than the production footage?
Oh, man. The lighting in the Demo is fucking sexy. I have no idea as to why they would replace that with a boring and bland atmosphere.
i dont fucking get it EDIT: i dont get why they do this, of course i get the video.
I remember seeing pictures of this a long time ago and thinking it looked unreal and after seeing the pictures of the final product it was one of the most confusing things ever because of the difference. Glad I wasn't the only one to notice this. Must suck for the people who bought the game, they got gypped.
Doesn't AVP 3 for PC support Directx 10 or 11? Why did Colonial Marines only use Directx 9 for PC?
What the fuck. I was wondering why the final game looked so different. Where the fuck was this big "dynamic lighting" thing that they said the game would have and that everyone was excited about? I thought I could shoot out lights and see how the entire room can become completely dark. But sadly, I couldn't. Not only that, the graphics look like a 2004 game, the story was meh, the animations and voice acting were cheesy and glitchy, and the gameplay was boring. Really disappointed.
I bet the consoles did this.

this is an atrocity.

Wow. I really can't believe how badly they downgraded this game. This is pretty disappointing.
It's called "false advertising". End of story. [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] I hear some elders also call it "suicide by marketing" [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] Basically Gearbox is a "con-pany" now.

this sort of reminds me of the far cry 3 tech demo that was on xbox, it actually looked better then the final version on the highest settings, on PC :v:
yeah, remember the pre alpha footage from 2010-ish right before they released AVP 2010, it was a squad based shooter with better graphics than this. Just goes to show you.
this sort of reminds me of the far cry 3 tech demo that was on xbox, it actually looked better then the final version on the highest settings, on PC :v:
The only thing I really saw different with the Far Cry 3 tech demo and final game comparison was that the tech demo had more foliage and scenery, other than that the rest of the game looked exactly the same. This on the other hand is something on a completely different level.

pretty disappointing, glad I didn't pre-order it.
Same goes to Uncharted 3
Since when are E3 demos representative of the final product?
Since they are labled "work in progress"
Since they are labled "work in progress"
While the video may not have been labelled "WIP" the entire fact that it isn't going to release for nearly a year lets one know it's still in development. Plus, if you buy games based off year old E3 videos, you are pretty fucking stupid... And the fact that the gameplay trailers were mostly showing ingame cutscenes and second long flashes of actual gameplay should have rung some bells. Now if they were using the E3 demo as a actual "buy me now" trailer for the game then false advertising might be considered, but it would be like calling the Overstrike trailer at E3 false advertising because the game took a radically different art direction in the final version.
how is it possible to fuck up Aliens this many times in a row
-snop- merghe
how is it possible to fuck up Aliens this many times in a row
You have to try really hard. No, seriously. You have to put effort into fucking up this bad.

The worst part is there's a rather large amount of people I've seen calling people who don't like the game "trolls" and "Haters" who aren't true fans of the series calling this one of the best games they've ever played. I'm not going to insult anyone for enjoying the game, but I'm still a bit pissed that people are happy to buy games this sloppy and think they're masterpieces.

Wtf I just bought this, knowing it wasn't going to be a great game, but because I was looking forward to the awesome graphics. I'm seriously just installing it now, will let you know if it's really this f'd up on highest settings. Got two 6950's in CrossfireX
