I'm creating a game for a Computer Science class. I don't have the time to sit and learn how to make digital art, although I'd really love to. I was wondering if anyone would care to help me out? I won't be making any profit off the art or game, and I don't exactly have much money to pay for the services. If anyone would be willing to do this for free, I'd be very appreciative.
The game is a platformer set in a cyberpunk world. In single player, the player is running across rooftops of a utopian cyberpunk city. It two player, the game would split in half and the first player would still be the same, but the second player would run across the rooftops of a dystopian cyberpunk world, but upside down. The art style that I wanted to go for was like city nightlife. The only thing lighting the area are signs hanging on buildings and light coming from inside apartments/stores. I liked the art style of Monaco and how it had bright, neon colors. That was a inspiration of mine. The main characters would be a male and female, maybe like Faith from Mirror's Edge and Nathan Drake from Uncharted. The enemies would be Robots/Androids/Cyborgs.
Assets that I would need are a background, textures for platforms, and characters. I'm not looking for top of the line art, but something simple would be sufficient. The art I have now are a red square, a black circle, and a blue, poorly gradiented background, so anything else would be good.
The resolution of the game window is 960x544. The dimensions for the characters and platforms are still being decided on, though.
These are some examples of the setting I was imagining:

I apologize if this is too much to ask for free, I just don't have much time and resources to do this by myself; otherwise, I would.
From what I see I'd highly suggest working with a lower-detail mindset. It's way too much to ask someone to imitate industry-grade concept art, especially for free and for a project they're unfamiliar with. I'd suggest working with something along the lines of Canabalt, not necessarily in the same style but in non-detailed and layered silhouettes.

I think if your project can go in that route it can turn into something really fruitful between you and the possible artist.
I wasn't exactly expecting the exact same kind of art as the examples I posted. Something really simplistic, like Monaco's art style. But, I guess it was a bit overzealous of me to request this.
I was thinking of doing something like Canabalt, but my artistic skill isn't very shaped right now. I have about a month to finish the coding and art, on top of classes, work, and friends. So, I don't have time to sit down and teach myself art. The game doesn't exactly require amazing graphics, but I'd like to have it look good.
If it's for a computer science class, I highly doubt you'll be graded on the graphics. Just work with simple primitive shapes, and learn a bit of color theory just to get a nice look that works together. You don't really need to be some fancy artist to do that.
Yea, the graphics aren't important, but if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right. And, this idea has been something I've been meaning to do anyway, so I might actually make it into a fully fleshed out game some day. I have another similar course next semester, so I could reuse this game there as well.
Isn't the whole point of the project that you make it? Are you asking someone sends you work that you can then take the credit for?
good luck pal

When did I ever say I was going to take the credit for the art? I am giving full credit to the original artist. I'm not an asshole, I just don't have the time to learn drawing and make the art for the game. If I did, I wouldn't have made this thread.
The requirements of the art is that it must be original, as in it has to be made for that specific game, and I can't use free public art.
The art isn't supposed to matter, anyway. I'm being graded on the code, not the art. I just want it to look good, because why the hell not.
