Salutations my friends, that's right, the good old pokemon. (Dammit spelling.) I was wondering if there are any collectors in the house. And if these things are worth anything, cause i have an ass load. And not just and regular card, Japanese cards. :) I know i am the coolest, buying cards i cant even understand as a kid. But i thought there might be a chance there worth something, ya know? Anyone experienced in this department?
Edit.
A few days later:
So i went to Super Games (This huge store/gaming arena/place) earlier today to see if i could get any moneys out of my pokemon cards. And it ends up the guy paid me fifteen bucks for my Japanese Richu! That's bank right there my friends. :) Except i blew the money on lunch and a pack o' No.27. Oh well, i think im going to take all of them in tomorrow and see how much he offers me. Its worth a shot.
Fuck yeah, I used to love these things. I have boxes full of them. I wonder the same thing. But knowing my luck, they are probably useless.
Pokemon is for little babies.
I have the whole basic set all set up in order from 1 to 150.
Charizard =)
I only played the games, never the cards.
I still have all of my old ones somewhere. Don't know where that is though. I remember I never got any shiny cards. And once I was really dumb and traded my Mewtwo for a Squirtle. Oh well. I was more into the gameboy games anyway.
Yea man, i am not really up to date with what's hot these days, but who knows, they could be worth something.

Pfft I got 151 :smug:
I have tons of promotional cards from all the tournaments, most of the first decks. Basic, Jungle, Fossil, First Edition, Trainer, Rocket. And everything from the league, yes I went to the league, it was something fun for a 9 year old to do on weekends, plus it was an excuse to go to toys r us. The Ancient Mew from the first movie, managed to get 6 of them after haggling with the ticket booth guy. Unfourtanetly one of my dick friends in middle school was lookin at my collection and stole 2 of my cards, Charizard and 1 of my Ancient Mews. I didn't really care since I hadn't played in over 3 years but he was an asshole.
Here are my Ponyta's

I got 12 promotional non-holographics and 6 promotional holographics from the league. They started giving them out like candy when noone showed up on some days. One time I was there with 8 other people and we got like 10 promo cards each from different variety. Other days there would be like 30 people there and you would have to actually play for them.
See, I'm pretty young, I got into the cards as they were about to head into the third generation, I'm glad I got what I did. Plus I could never go to any promotional things, as most were hosted in America.
The pokemon leagues were hosted in almost every toys r us here in America, then every month they would host a tournament at malls around the US. I went to one in Aventura i believe, or Dolphin, I am not sure.
I remember printing out "rare" cards and have my friends buy them.
:smug:

Ugh, my mom sold mine like... forever ago. :(
I have a shiny Ho-oh. Yay.
However, some asshole stole my Murkrow and Golem when I brought the cards to school (that was like, 7 or 8 years ago or something). I vowed never to bring them to that cursed place ever again. Plus, I really actually played the cards like 5 times, no more.
But I still have a box with about 500 pokemon pogs somewhere. Yes I know those are not the actual pogs but how else should I call them.
