Health warnings have been made ahead of what could be the hottest September day in the UK for more than 50 years.
Temperatures in the upper 20Cs have been forecast in England until Friday, with London possibly reaching 31C (88F) on Tuesday, the Met Office said.
Mods please fix the typo in the title. Autocorrect :suicide:
Upper 20s? I'll remember to pack a lightweight jacket along with my normal one then.
This weather is shit.
It's so strange to read about 31 C being cause for concern, but I guess it would be shit with no AC.

Yep, most people aren't used to these temps at all, most buildings don't have AC, and the majority of houses are heavily insulated against the shitty weather we usually get, meaning being indoors can somehow feel hotter than standing outside.
S'fun.
It's been fucking awful sleeping at night. I wake up 4 or 5 times a night soaked in sweat. The piddly little fan I have barely makes a difference, it's just blowing warm air around.
I miss the Middle-East. Shit over there revolves around controlling temperature. I love throwing myself into my bed and cranking the AC unit to the coldest temp.
Lol when I was in Cambodia it was 38 degree celsius with a humidity of 80%
It was like the whole country was an oven
I havent experienced any kind of heatwave in lancashire. Its been below/very low 20s nearly every day with average humidity. The forecast for the rest of the week is all below 20c except for Wednesday which is 24c

31 without AC is okay

What? Insulation also helps on keeping the cold inside.
Waiting for Facepunch to perform their regular rendition of the Four Yorkshiremen sketch

Woah, look at this guy over here, he can tolerate high temperatures because he's used to it! What a fucking badass!
Didn't feel really different up here in Scotland to be honest. It's been warm as fuck during the nights for a couple of days now.
For today we've got 33c forecasted, in September. Hooray. Sadly most of my classes today are in rooms without air-conditioning.
Can we skip the usual "lol that's not hot! look how awesome i am!" "no, its a different place witgh people acclimatized to different temperatures and without ac etc"

oh and then saying how hot it gets in your country
It's so strange to read about 31 C being cause for concern, but I guess it would be shit with no AC.
Yeah literally nowhere here has AC (Aside from decent cars), but if anything it's too cold 95% of the time.
The reason they put these warnings out is because there is a big spike what could be preventable deaths when we have a heatwave, old/weak people/with pre-existing conditions who can't cope with the heat and humidity combined with lack of any kind of AC means a lot of people die unpleasant deaths.
Our regular weather is so mild that even a 5 degree difference +/- in winter/summer has a huge impact.
guys its so hot I might overheat and pass out
Don't worry my dad has declared today trench digging day. Wish me luck.

Hi Hillary

back when I lived in aberdeen we'd get maybe 1 ~ 5 days a year of heat and every other day was just as rainy and shit as usual.
now im in southend essex and from around may to october i wake up every morning in a pool of sweat, my flat feels like an oven and when I open a window to vent the heat it's nothing but warm still air.
but at least running desk fans is dirt cheap compared to spending £20 every 3 days on gas central heating in the freezing cold winter months.
Yeah literally nowhere here has AC (Aside from decent cars), but if anything it's too cold 95% of the time..
All my cars and my workplace have AC. I'm freezing my ass off. Might have to layer up.
I'm not sure if I prefer these threads where people from hot places brag about their climates or winter threads where people from cold places brag about their climates.
Wow, I normally hate these "well where I live, it's X degrees" comparisons, but holy shit you guys are concerned over 20c (68f) to 30c (88f)? I worked as a lifeguard in ~40c (104f) almost every day this past summer. In fact, my air conditioning is set to 68f right now and I'm cold

If anyone can get one out while it's that cold I'm sure someone would.....
It was like 32 around here an hour ago. And it's supposed to be autumn right about now.
If this is how the summer's been, I can only imagine how miserable this winter is going to be.
my electricity has been going on and off all day from thunderstorms and torrential rain where's my heatwave
