Who likes classical and/or orchestral music in general? I think a lot of people do but don't want to admit it out of fear of saying
lulz thats for teh fagz!1!one!
I think it's way better than almost 99% of the shit made nowadays. Instead of just churning out loads of shit and hoping that they at least develop a fan base classical and orchestral music is really thought through, it's made to actually sound good and be the best it can be. I really like the Halo soundtracks, they're epic beyond words. So, how about you lot? Like it, hate it?
I love Classical music.
I've always loved music from the Borouqe era. Infact, I've got myself a violin to play! Search up Animusic on youtube, they've got some awesome shit I love listening to!
Recently stole a bunch from my mom. I've always loved classical music. Does not need words. Personally, I like Bach and Wagner the best.
I like it. I especially like some of the stuff by Chopin.
Handel and Bach are good composers, anyone else love Water Music?
All of it's pretty much good stuff. "Air on a "g" string"? Awesome.
I was with you up till "Halo soundtrack" which is really more just second-rate electronica with some hired-by-the-hour local orchestra than something resembling classical music That said, I like the Halo soundtrack lol
I love the music by Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Haydn etc. I play it every day. Specialy Beethoven. I never get tired of his music.
I love everything by Dvorak.
In The Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg Really awesome song! :v: My favourite band, called Apocalyptica, actually plays on cellos wich are classical instruments.
I am starting to fairly like Classical/Orchestral music. Stuff like Jeremy Soule (Elder Scrolls and other games), Howard Shore (LOTR and I am sure other movies) and Z.R.E.O. Team/Z.R.E.O. (they recreate Zelda music). I most likely will find others soon. Mainly stuff for soundtracks of movies and games.
I like Classical music, my favorite classical song is In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edward Greig, I also really like Apocalyptica and some stuff by Bach and Mozart.

I think the Halo 3 soundtrack was something like a 60 piece orchestra. I forget exactly. But yes, it is good. A piece of classical music that I really like is Canon in D Major. Beautiful piece.
I think the Halo 3 soundtrack was something like a 60 piece orchestra. I forget exactly.
I think that was just for the announcement trailer, and bigger for the actual game.
lol, I just discovered on iTunes there's like an entire genre of soundtrack-music-that-isn't-really-a-soundtrack, here's some albums in case you guys are interested Corner Stone Cues - Requiem for a Tower (it has that god damn requiem for a dream song everyone uses in their stupid videos) Corner Stone Cues - El Morro Corner Stone Cues - Eton Path Kerry Muzzey - Trailer Music Kerry Muzzey - Home Movies Kerry Muzzey - Fluid Globus - Epicon Position Music - Orchestral Series Vol. 1 Ars Arcana - The Savage Tongue and all those E.S. Posthumus CDs but you knew about those
I like our modern orchestra, thanks the the influence of video games hitting in today's society, the music also involved in that, that's another reason why I like today's arts and humanities.
I sorta like Grieg somewhat - the Peer Gynt suite is nice :)
I've always wanted to get into it, I just never knew what to listen to. I love Classical Guitar, and early Spanish guitar. But I'm very uninformed about Classical music besides that.
HOLBERG
Tchaikovsky > all
Instead of just churning out loads of shit and hoping that they at least develop a fan base
How the hell do you think the early composers rolled? Look in Bach's back library for organ for example- big boomy shit that was catchy before he got famous, then lots of samey shit based on that once he knew he had something good going for him. That being said, I actually love his entire organ library...
I play double bass and cello, and I must say that I have a lot more fun playing classical music than listening to it.

People like Bach probably spend months working on a single piece. A modern day band writes some shitty lyrics, makes a rushed tune to go with it (or vice versa) and hopes that everyone likes it. There wasn't really any room for failure back in the olden days.
Yeah I love classical music too, only problem is that it's hard to find more of the epic orchestral music, I mean, it's hard to find new tracks. I've never seen an CD with epic orchestral on either :(. I do listen to everything I can find of it though.
I like classical music, but mainly romantic piano, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin etc. I'm learning something by Schubert at the moment, here's a link to someone playing it:
I am quite a fan of Gothic ambient classical.
The only classical piece that really stands out for me is Pictures at an Exhibition. The melodies are really good, plus Ravel's orchestration is awesome. Night on Bald Mountain is good too, same composer.

Sorry, i tried media-tagging it, but it said something about a missing filetype.
I'm not a huge fan of classical music, but I do love to hear some orchestrated pieces when I hear them. I even have a few on my Zune.
