Iranian mobile game simulates attack against my town
Iran launched a new game for mobile phones called "Missile Attack" to mark the International Jerusalem Day (al-Quds Day), which simulates a missile attack on Haifa.
"The anti-Zionist game shows Iran's missile capability," said one of the game's developers, Mehdi Atash Ja'am, to Iranian news agency Fars. "In the game, players break the air defense system and harm Israel."

Is it on apple appstore or google play? I only got an iphone.
Well you knew one way or another this game would be propaganda.
Was this game funded by the Iranian government, or did some Iranian guy make this in his basement? The title is very misleading

The title of the article in Iran's official news agency is "Iran Unveils Cellphone Game Simulating Missile Strike against Israel"
is it a good game?
Real question is, is there any pay to win areas in the game
That got me thinking.
If I make a game about nuking america all the anti-US lunatics will buy it.
What the fuck am I waiting for.

Would the premium currency be "Blood of Infidels" or Camels?

You just thought about this now??

You'd never be able to travel to the US/likely any allied countries. Might be worth it though.
So what. We make games based on other countries and cities every month
what's this fad with people putting "my town" or "my area" in thread titles
didn't that one guy get banned for doing that frequently

Brief sympathy from strangers on the internet.

Elaborating on the reason for developing a game in which the Iranian missiles destroy targets in Israel, Atash Jaam said that it was a move in retaliation for the console game, 'Battlefield', that includes scenes simulating attacks on Tehran and its Milad Tower.

They actually banned it in Iran as well, http://www.pcgamer.com/battlefield-3-banned-in-iran/.
Seemed like it was only a matter of time. Aren't there games portraying attacks or defense at/from Palestine? Anything seems like fair game in video games, not to imply I might condone either one.

I believe Hezbollah released their own game running on the unreal engine.

Really? I'm not sure if just making a game would result in a visa ban. Except for sensationalist news stories, you would probably have to go farther than that to draw attention, especially considering that fear of a nuclear attack has mostly been replaced by terrorism.

doing it occasionally is ok, that one dude was posting local news all the damn time
So is this game like playing for the other side in Missile Command?

For the record, the game specifically targets Haifa, which is where I actually live.
Which is interesting, since Haifa is neither Israel's capital (that's Jerusalem), nor it's largest city (Tel Aviv, which is also home to Israel's only international airport and the army HQ).
Haifa is, however, home to some strategic targets like a large port, oil refineries and petrochemical industries which already made it a favorite Hezbollah target.
So a game targeting Haifa, even if it's not an official government thing (not clear from the article, though it does state previous games were made by the Iranian army) if it reflect the way Iran officially thinks about it than they're aiming for where they can cause the most civilian deaths.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was government-funded, I mean, Iran is financially backing Hamas anyway. Making an app about bombing Israel wouldn't be the most drastic thing they've done.

I've been to Haifa numerous times-- love it there, honestly. Feels a lot less touristy than Tel Aviv as well.
Leave while you still can

Oh damn, I used to live in Haifa and worked at the Bahai gardens, still have a lot of friends there :O
Don't these guys ever get bored of constantly slinging shit at each other?

It's like if France and the UK made films about nuking Paris or dropping a giant wheel of cheese on Nottingham.

Israel gets pissy if they are ever put on the receiving end of anything.

US people will love it too because it features America.
Win-win here.

Yeah just look at how much we love GTA and Fallout, and those games flat out mock us and our society constantly (GTA everywhere, Fallout's lore before the War).
My little brother is actually in Haifa

Not sure why Iran would want to attack this place it's very nice looking
