I've been asked to buy a laptop for someone living with my temporarily (step-dad's friend), all he's going to use it for is browsing the internet and other simple general computer activities, his budget isn't an issue as he's "loaded", although he's not going to be doing anything hardware intensive.
I tried to get him a net book but his eyes aren't fantastic and he said 10-12" isn't big enough, he wants 15.6" minimum, I recommended this:

But any advice is appreciated, I don't have much experience with laptops, but the G62 does look fairly good value.
Must be buy able from the UK and budget isn't an issue (he just spent £2,000 on new wheels for his rover, what a puff) but even a celeron would easily be fine for his uses.
Thankyou!
I'd say get an Asus or Sony. They're very reliable.
Got anything specific in mind?
I think you should just avoid Celerons, try looking at cheaper models with pentium or i3 CPU's for basic stuff like web browsing.
EDIT: the one you linked should be pretty much perfect for that.

Pretty stylish too, I did look a little bit and that's the best I could find, I just wanted a bit of insight before I lay down this guys money.

My laptop has a 2GHz single core Celeron and it works just fine for web browsing etc. and runs Windows 7 smoothly. It can also handle software decoding of 720p video, and under linux with some tweaking can almost handle 1080p.
