Ok i need to get a good processor for the lga775 socket. My budget is £100 and I don't know that much about what different cpu's do so please help me! :)

You won't get a decent quad core for under £120.
depends on the specific MoBo as to what you can get
and what CPU you have now as to whether the upgrade is worth it

i never got the q8200, obviously in intels mind the higher number the better, hence q9550, but the q6600 has a higher clock and more whatever the fuck cache than the q8200, so wat
I use the q8200 at college and it runs games and unreal SDK/3ds max/FPSCreator/Photoshop really well.
