As the title says... having some trouble. One of my brother's friends from China is staying the week with us and he has a laptop with XP and I can't figure out how to get him connected to our 7 network... Here's what the network looks like (dotted=wireless) (red=not working) Anyone know of any problems that might cause it to not work, or where I can find instructions to make it work?
is it ethernet or wireless. if wireless, try ethernet.
Are you trying to get him connected to your wireless network?
Yes. And we can't do ethernet at the moment, my brother forgot to grab the cable out of his dorm before he left.
This wouldn't be a windows 7 network, unless your router is running windows 7. You just have a computer with windows 7 on it connected to the network. Could you possibly explain what is going wrong when you try to connect the XP laptop to the network? Does it return an error? Do nothing?
Yeah, we need to know if you're successfully connected using your WEP/WPA key or not, among other things like uh what the problem is.
Uninstall norton.
