While the ruling means that the site will lose its famous ThePirateBay.se domain, don't expect the site to simply disappear. TPB informs TorrentFreak that they have plenty more domains left in store. In keeping with a global strategy to disrupt the operations of unauthorized file-sharing sites by attacking their infrastructure, Swedish authorities have been eying two domains operated by the notorious Pirate Bay. In 2013, Prosecutor Fredrik Ingblad, the man behind the operation that took the site down in December, filed a motion targeting ThePirateBay.se (the site’s main domain) and PirateBay.se (a lesser used alternative).
And so we move to another domain and thirty more Pirate Bay clones and backup sites spring up just in case, just another Tuesday for the Pirate Bay.
Yep, keep wasting money to take down this sites, I'm sure this will get people buying your products.
The owners have had a clone up since 90 minutes after it got taken down Look at the top comment on the post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/36h4ks/thepiratebayse_and_piratebayse_have_been_seized/
With all these new top-level domains they have hundreds of new options www.thepiratebay.coffee
And just a few days ago this was posted, when are they going to learn that it's not going to change ANYTHING https://torrentfreak.com/shutting-down-pirate-sites-is-ineffective-european-commission-finds-150514/
And just a few days ago this was posted, when are they going to learn that it's not going to change ANYTHING https://torrentfreak.com/shutting-down-pirate-sites-is-ineffective-european-commission-finds-150514/
Maybe it's for the better, mind you. As long as their short-sighted mind thinks killing the domain will solve anything, my friends will be able to pirate stuff as always, just changing a few letters in the address bar. Being this VS they catching up and inventing a more effective strategy (that will not help the cusomer ofc)...
As long as there's methods to share files online piracy will NEVER die. When will these morons learn that.
As long as there's methods to share files online piracy will NEVER die. When will these morons learn that.
They don't need to 100% stop piracy any more than a retail store needs to 100% stop shoplifting. They just need to make piracy inconvenient enough and their service convenient enough that the majority of their market would rather buy than go through the hassle of finding a decent torrent.
Things that are accessible for free, and at leisure will always be better than forking out money and going to get it elsewhere. I'm sorry, but with the cost of living rising every single fucking day it seems, it's to be expected that people praise sites like TPB, and others.

Nice.
and once all the domains are used, they'll use www(.)thebayofpirates(.)ws
No. He's saying that that bussiness model WILL always be the more attractive choice especially when games/movies/series etc become more expensive every generation.
But they aren't becoming "more expensive every generation". Consoles themselves are now significantly cheaper when compared to their older incarnations; [t]http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/arstechnicalaunchgraph.png[/t] Games? Games are also now significantly cheaper for the end user for much the same reason. The prices look bigger today because the numbers are bigger, but the average income is also higher, and the currency of choice may be worth less overall. The bigger number doesn't mean the price is actually higher. (also be thankful we moved off of cartridges, those fuckers were costly)
Not even trying to hide it, you just straight up admit you want things for free and don't want to pay. Nice.
Well no shit. Why would anyone want to pay for something they can get for free?
"I can't afford something so I'm just going to take it for free"
It is pretty much given to me so yeah, why not? Times are tough and if you are low on money it's stupid to not take advantage of such opportunities.
The new Piratebay Logo is great
Is that an Hydra? That is really clever.
The new Piratebay Logo is great
Lost one domain, replaced it with 5 new ones.

Times are tough and if you are low on money it's stupid to not take advantage of such opportunities.
In every thread like this people say that these companies just need to get with the times and offer a better, more convenient service and they won't have to worry about piracy. But when there are people like you basically saying you could pay, but refuse to as long as you can get it for free, and don't seem to care that you're using the same reasoning as shoplifters, it's not hard to see why big media is trying to prevent piracy rather than somehow compete with it.
As long as there's methods to share files online piracy will NEVER die. When will these morons learn that.
Shit, people will use dead drops before stop pirating.
"I can't afford something so I'm just going to take it for free"
If you don't have the money to pay for it anyway, and you aren't causing monetary or other damages to the company by not paying, then where is the issue?
It is pretty much given to me so yeah, why not? Times are tough and if you are low on money it's stupid to not take advantage of such opportunities.
yes it is stupid. dishonest and impatient
Entitlement
I don't see how the fact of having a right to something is relevant in a situation where you don't in fact have a right to something but there's so much bullshit related to getting something legally that in some cases it's easier, and even safer to get it illegally.
