"9": another dark trip ass movie from Tim Burton. Though he's only a producer, you may notice a bit of his flair. Or may you... Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton (The Corpse Bride, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Nightwatch) join forces to produce wunderkind director Shane Acker’s distinctively original and thrilling tale. 9 stars Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Crispin Glover and features the music of Danny Elfman. When 9 (The Lord of the Ring’s Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they'll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.
In theaters 9/9/09 (clever, i know) I think this movies going to be good, at least visually if not a cool story. The action actually might be ballin too. And it's got Danny Elfman doing dem songs so that'll be straight up. Trailer "The Informant": I'm escited bout dis one. Matt Damon and comedy surprising go together rather well, which I know sounds peculiar but I give him props. And I believe it is a remake (yes? no?) from 1997. A rising star at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Whitacre suddenly turns whistleblower. Even as he exposes his company’s multi-national price-fixing conspiracy to the FBI, Whitacre envisions himself being hailed as a hero of the common man and handed a promotion. But before all that can happen, the FBI needs evidence, so Whitacre eagerly agrees to wear a wire and carry a hidden tape recorder in his briefcase, imagining himself as a kind of de facto secret agent. Unfortunately for the FBI, their lead witness hasn’t been quite so forthcoming about helping himself to the corporate coffers. Whitacre’s ever-changing account frustrates the agents and threatens the case against ADM as it becomes almost impossible to decipher what is real and what is the product of Whitacre’s rambling imagination. Based on the true story of the highest-ranking corporate whistleblower in U.S. history.
In theaters 9/18/09 Trailer Straight up.
Two movies at once? This looks fishy... Eh, 9 sounds good, going to watch it this weekend.
I think 9 looks amazing. I saw the extended trailer from the cinema and it reminds me of the machines from the Matrix. Looks cool. Also the Informant looks absolutely hilarious.
I can't wait for 9
I really want to see 9. Strange day to release though; wednesday.
The Informant looks funny because Matt Damon looks completely natural in his role. Like, it's basically Matt Damon playing Matt Damon.
They both look awesome. Matt Damon good, Tim Burton good. But 9 looks better to me.
i think we should do one movie per thread so that gives a change to another person. seems like your hogging topics IMO
i think we should do one movie per thread so that gives a change to another person. seems like your hogging topics IMO
Get out.
I'm pumped for 9. Gonna go see it at midnight opening night!
Everytime I see a commercial for 9 I think it's some videogame from a few years ago, the CGI looks shitty in the commercials but it looked good in theaters
I'm pumped for 9. Gonna go see it at midnight opening night!
I can tell. Anyway doesn't this movie looks a bit childish?
Not really, but who cares. If it's sweet it's sweet.
"Why 0014?" "Twice the cool of 007" Awesome.
Not really. The Informant looks pretty funny.
I saw a preview screening of 9 last night, buddy won a local newspaper contest and brought me along. It was a decent movie, but by no means epic, as the trailer leads you to believe. The characters at times feel pretty strong and then pretty weak, and the story is nice, but as a whole, I felt it could've accomplished more. 6.5/10.
I don't get how the robots are towering like 20 stories, and then when the 9 are made, they get lowered to like 10 feet. well in the commercials that is.
Well due to the lack of humans to kill, there is no need to build large scale war machines anymore. With the fact that there are little ragdoll people that slay robots by the hundreds, shoot fireballs out their eyes and launch lightning from their arses, smaller robots could find and kill smaller people than a giant walker could.
The machines in the film 9 look really well designed, but I"m not buying into the sentient-ragdoll thing for some reason.
9 has an unfitting theme song. By theme song I mean the song in the extended trailer.
meh 9 has too many plot flaws
meh 9 has too many plot flaws
Care to develop?
I need to inform myself w/ the informant
I need to inform myself w/ the informant
ohohoohohohohohoh i think what you did thar. But seriously, 9 TV ads started like, today. Why so not tell us earlier?
does 9 remind anyone else of little big planet
Oh shit! Seriously!
The Informant looks awesome. That doesn't even look like Matt Damon.
