If they bring this to other regions, they just took a big step towards making the xbone a more appealing choice. IMO, choosing between a $400 Xbone, or $400 ps4 would be a much harder choice.
This is good, competition is good for the consumer.
not even out a year
£429, with a bundled game, will drop to £399 on Friday and will include major title Titanfall in the package. So far, the drop will only apply to the UK.
It ain't that big of a change anyway.
It ain't that big of a change anyway.
psychologically it is
It ain't that big of a change anyway.
Dropping £30 and including a brand new game is a pretty decent drop.
Both consoles are still so early on that their libraries don't justify a purchase.
400 pounds for a ps4? Damn you Brits are getting ripped off
Both consoles are still so early on that their libraries don't justify a purchase.
I was at a gamestop recently and asked about what exclusives were on their ways to merit purchasing either system when I already play PC primarily. The only things the guy could list were killzone, fifa, and some other random sports games, and I really hope there's more than that to be excited about
400 pounds for a ps4? Damn you Brits are getting ripped off
*£350 without a game.
*£350 without a game.
still a rip
Both consoles are still so early on that their libraries don't justify a purchase.
Are you fucking serious? Their are a shitload of exclusives coming out soon. Ground Zeros is on its way and Infamous Second Son and uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
still a rip
Don't forget that VAT gets added on to the RRP, so before tax it would be £280.
Are you fucking serious? Their are a shitload of exclusives coming out soon. Ground Zeros is on its way and Infamous Second Son and uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
It's not helping much when they aren't out yet for us to play and appreciate...
Thats the joke.
Sorry, Poe's Law.

Still its going to be a year, maybe two before PS4/Xbone will offer a library of exclusives that make it worth playing if you already have a PC. It was just like the last gen, it took until about 2007-2008 before we really started seeing the "real next gen" games come out.

So there is no use in marketing that stuff outside of the US.
Really at this point, there's NO worthwhile exclusives yet. Usually I'd have held out a lot longer on getting a console so I can see how the library grows... But frankly, when it comes to the Xbox One, after Halo 4 I don't give a fuck about that series (and the Halo series was one of my all time favorites!), and Gears of War sucked after 2 so there's just nothing on the Xbox One that drew me in. But admittedly, the PS4 doesn't have anything announced that's exclusive and interests me either. At least not yet, I got Killzone and have barely played it because the series never really interested me. Infamous: Second Son looks alright, but i never played the other games, so I'll wait to see how it does. Really the only exclusives are the ones aren't announced, like a new Little Big Planet or the new The Game Company game. If I'm being totally honest, neither currently have an exclusive library that justifies it for me. I got it because I knew there would probably be some cool ones down the line, and I needed a console to play Destiny. So I went with the cheaper option with more potentially interesting exclusives and that won't be beating the corpses of two franchises I used to love.
If they did this a while before I got my PS4 on Saturday, I might have considered it :v:
The price cut doesn't apply to the US.

Nothing for Xbone has made me really want one, especially now that I couldnt care less about halo.

If you want anything I'd say be excited for destiny. It's one of the few things I'm pretty interested in right now, and it's console exclusive, but not necessarily true next gen as it'll still have 360/ps3 versions. I think it would have driven a ton more next gen sales if they didn't decide to accomodate the elders, but who knows how long they've been working on it. I know there were hints about destiny in ODST and next gen devkits wouldn't be out for a long while yet
also i cant wait till the bone and 4 get super cheap so i can just get em and a bunch of (by then) good exclusives in 1 paycheck
See you in like 6 years. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are now just hitting that point. $100 for a console and some games and controllers if you are lucky on craigslist.
halo's original dev team stopped at Reach and H4 was more like officially sanctioned fanfiction.
Oh believe me I know all of that! I'll totally admit I'm a bit of a Bungie fanboy and have been since Halo 1, and 343 Industries is just plain garbage.
If you want anything I'd say be excited for destiny.
And I totally am, really its the main reason I got a PS4. I had it pre-ordered for it before i even owned the console! I know it was on the 360 too, but I wanted to play it on a next gen console I guess.
I had no idea Destiny was coming to the PS4 as well, thats fucking sick. Is there really any reason to get a Xbone at this point? The only big name exclusive I can think of for it is Halo 5 and Halo hasnt been that great for awhile.
Titanfall is Xbone/PC exclusive Coming on 360 sometime later though I think.
Now release a version without mandatory Kinect and make it even cheaper!
