idk if he's joking or not in the beginning, but rtcw, wolf09, and wolf:tno are on the same timeline.
wolf3d and spear of destiny are separate.

They're different timelines, but this is still a sequel to Wolf3D since it's the same IP and released afterwards.
Also he said he never beat this game before, but pumpkinheads can't be used until after you beat the game (unless I'm remembering wrong).
I'm guessing this game has some kind of bighead/pumpkin head mode?
I still really liked this game, the combat was pretty satisfying.

Nope, people in Germany literally have pumpkins for heads.
Did you fail biology that hard?

Actually I'd find it more believable that he was playing a German version of the game that censored the heads.
I hate how it seems like every gun sounds almost the same, the sound and VO really made me not want to play this way back.
and BJ looks retarded
I'm 99% sure the pumpkins were because the video was released on April Fool's
I actually felt the same way he did about the game. I always felt like something sapped my interest from it. A shame really.
I really, REALLY wanted to like Wolfenstein. I played RTCW religiously and when this came out I was so hyped. But like Ross I kept feeling like I had to force myself to play it a little bit more each time. It got to the point where I only played it when I was exceptionally bored. To the game's credit the combat can be satisfying and I liked how the gold you found actually helped you buy upgrades instead of being useless baubles you picked up. That and the exploration were the things I wished New Order had.
Maybe if and when Machine Games gets the opportunity to design the next Wolfenstein, perhaps they'll consider implementing the best of both worlds?
I mean, The Old Blood is shaping up to be pretty cool, so it'd be hogwash for them to only get to do The New Order and The Old Blood.
Also, on the subject of Wolfenstein: Black Sun, let us remember Yahtzee's critique in animated form.
