'Anonymous' hackers mistake Kasumigaura for Kasumigaseki
The international hackers group Anonymous hacked the website of the Kasumigaura River Office in Ibaraki Prefecture, apparently mistaking "Kasumigaura" for "Kasumigaseki," the location of many central government offices.
In a protest against the enactment of the revised Copyright Law, the group named the Supreme Court, the Democratic Party of Japan and central government offices as targets for cyber-attacks.
After its declaration was posted online, several government websites were attacked and some content was rewritten by the hackers.
The Kasumigaura River Office, which is run by the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry's Kanto Regional Development Bureau, has no connection with copyright work. However, English messages appeared on its website, reading: "We are Anonymous" and "We do not forgive."
On Tuesday evening, a user on Anonymous' social networking site pointed it out, and asked whether it was a mistake.
In response, a person believed to be one of the main members of the group said they did not know what kind of website it was.
Anonymous also tweeted in Japanese: "We made a mistake. We're sorry. Japanese is difficult."
Meanwhile, the website of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) could not be accessed Thursday morning.
Anonymous also tweeted about this, implying it may attack JASRAC's website.
Well done.
The keyword is: "hacks".
Most them probably learnt japanese off Lucky Star or something.
You'd think anonymous of all people would be more careful with japanese

The few people that actually speak fluent Japanese on 4chan can have more fun misdirecting it anyways

Stupid kids.
No surprise really
Haha "Japanese is difficult." Thats hilarious.
You'd think they would send out a bigger apology than a tweet considering how often they like to point out other's mistakes.
Times like these that I miss the Bad Reading rating.
I fucking hate anon it's not even 4chan anymore it's script kiddes
Baka gaijins those kids-desu

I don't think it has ever been 4chan. Just a bunch of idiots who like to use the "Anonymous" name since it's "edgy and cool". Kids.
Yeah, Japanese in English is so different than English.

They probably confused 霞ヶ浦 (Kasumigaura) with 霞ヶ関 (Kasumigaseki). They don't look too similar, but I could definitely see a beginner making a mistake

I don't think they worried about the actual japanese, I'm pretty sure they got confused with the english translation.
"We do not forgive"
But they have no problem apologizing and seeking forgiveness
"We do not forgive"

They forgot their slogan obviously.
Which is ironic because "We do not forget"
Not a surprise, they can barely grasp English, no way they could comprehend Japanese.
I find it funny how they get a japanese name wrong. You would think they would be experts at japanese with all the hent- i mean anime they watch.
FP bitches every time a news network equates anyone to being part of anonymous, but when a thread about them comes up they have no problem stereotyping the entire group, huh?

4chan's really died out. It used to be 4chan who did that kind of stuff. For example there was supposed to be a huge attack against 9gag one weekend and nothing fucking happened and there was no word of it. I tried to participate in a habbo hotel raid thread for shits and gigs and make a swastika in a populated room and the thread struggled to stay on the top of the page. You can't really have fun on the site anymore because the top page is full of retarded posts. There's not even any camwhores anymore because some dickhole always floods the thread with spiderman and another idiot tries to dox them. The only interesting content that's come out of it recently is the guy who stores his jizz in bottles and posts updates every end of the year. Sorry if it's TMI but that's the gist of it.
Like fuck I saw someone in public with a troll face on his shirt and another with a guy fawkes mask on his shirt.
