So i've been needing a keyboard to replace this damn Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 and after a lot of people suggested it I decided to buy the Saitek Eclipse II from Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H6AY6M After buying it, I realize it looks different from the picture, as it has a Saitek logo at the top and at the arm rest and an Eclipse II logo above the number pad, also the buttons next to the illumination knob are actually defined instead of being blank, not to mention this thing is glossy as hell! Theres no way so many people suggested this keyboard, i've only been using it for a a few hours and its driving me crazy, my question is, did I get some weird "updated" version that sucks more than the original [like the G110 vs the G11] if so, where can I buy the original?
I'm not sure if there's 2 versions, but I have the one you described as well. I don't have any problems with it.

all of my experiences with saitek's stuff have led me to think of them as cheap crap that isn't cheap
microsoft sidewinder x4
This. If you don't like the red backlighting it's really easy to mod it to blue or green or whatev, just find 10 LEDs that fit and get soldering.

next time just get a shitty 20$ keyboard and/or a mechanical keyboard
next time just get a shitty 20$ keyboard and/or a mechanical keyboard
$1.99 for my Dell AT101W. Best purchase ever.
I have a compaq 5137 that I found in a thrift store for $5. Fucking amazing keyboard. I will not use anything else but ones similar to this. I used to have a hp version that came with my mom's desktop, but I spilled soda on it. I also have her original hp mouse. Once again, amazing. I don't need all that fancy stuff, I like (pretty much) the basics.
