I think that Obama is a nonbeliever but is hiding it so that more people will approve of him. There are several presidents who are believed to have done the same thing, such as Abraham Lincoln, who referenced the bible and God in his speeches, but never joined a church. Because really, with fox news and the evangelicals and all that stuff, if Obama announced that he was a nonbeliever, Fox News would try to tear him down with stuff like "I am highly offended". Example here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twoXZE9U0Io&playnext_from=TL&videos=zC07yG_rkng This is the 21st century. There is no room for religion here.
I believe you're a troll and you're not hiding it well. :v:
Atheism isn't a bad thing.
Why would they be "Highly Offended"? As a president, religion doesn't matter except to get you more votes, and has no actual relation to how well of a job he is doing. Anyone who would bash or not vote for him strictly on his religious beliefs or lack thereof is a nazi :D
Good for him.
I believe you're a troll and you're not hiding it well. :v:
I'm not a troll. I'm an Atheist. I don't believe Atheism is bad.
Who cares if he is? He has nothing to hide but why does it matter? He's doing a dandy job. Edit: What is he doing wrong? The sheer number of things he's done shows otherwise.
Atheism is a good thing.
Fixed :)
I'm not a troll. I'm an Atheist. I don't believe Atheism is bad.
Uhh :downs:
-snip- retarded brother posted that sorry ( see crimsonfox )
Fixed :)
That basically said the same thing.
bush did better with katrina then obama did with the oil spill, see news section.
Government can't fix every screw up every corporation makes
It's quite obvious that he's a non-believer, but that's a good thing. He's trying to help the sheeple and fakes his belief so they would listen to him.
bush did better with katrina then obama did with the oil spill, see news section.
uhhh, the oil spill wasn't really in his control you see. and I know that the hurricane wasn't in bushs control, but obama really had no way of cleaning up something america didn't even cause
Someone please tell me what makes him look like a non-believer.
Government can't fix every screw up every corporation makes
Of course they can't. But he sure as hell could have done better.
That basically said the same thing.
Well not necessarily just because something isn’t a bad thing doesn’t mean it's a good thing, but yer it was just me mucking about
Someone please tell me what makes him look like a non-believer.
And moreover, given the increasing diversity of America's populations, the dangers of sectarianism are greater than ever. Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation. At least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers. And even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools? Would it be James Dobson's, or Al Sharpton's? Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination? Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith. Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount -- a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application? We -- so, before we get carried away, let's read our Bibles now. Folks haven't been reading their Bible. I'm glad he's trying to educate the sheeple.
I'm glad he's trying to educate the sheeple.
This just looks like he's trying to point out flaws, and why we should be open to everything. I've heard plenty of liberal Christians speak like that.
This just looks like he's trying to point out flaws, and why we should be open to everything. He's trying to educate dumb selfish American citizens, and they wouldn't listen to him if he was an atheist as most of them are rather strong Christian.
He obviously sounds like a non-Christian, and he's too smart to be a Christian.
Wow that sounds like you're completely generalizing a group of people. You sound like you're being angsty.
He obviously sounds like a non-Christian, and he's too smart to be a Christian.
and you sound too dumb to be a christian nice stereotyping mr angst
He obviously sounds like a non-Christian, and he's too smart to be a Christian.
no smart christians huh? is that why its one of the top 3 religions in the world? damn beaten to the punch
Wow that sounds like you're completely generalizing a group of people. You sound like you're being angsty.
I know. We often generalize in every day life, but start bitching about it when it comes to debates. An average Christian is dumber than an average atheist. Him being smart contributes to the fact that he's most likely not a Christian.
I don't know whether Obama is an atheist or not, but if he is and he's hiding it then he's a liar and that's something I would not want my president to be. You can rationalize it anyway you want, but he's still lying about something fundamental to his person. Would be good if he came clean and told us that he was a non-believer if that is the case, it would be a huge step forward for the acceptance of atheists in the US and possibly the world.
I know. We often generalize in every day life, but start bitching about it when it comes to debates.
most generalization happens in the mind which is where it should stay unless you want to sound like a prick
Atheists rarely get in office. It's that simple. There is only one "proclaimed" atheist in office, and that is because he is an incumbent in an area that never votes republican. There are probably more atheists in office that will not admit it.
If Obama is an atheist or religious, it doesn't really matter because religion has no rightful place in politics.
If Obama is an atheist or religious, it doesn't really matter because religion has no rightful place in politics.
The majority of voters seem to think otherwise. :sigh:
