Eurodance was a genre of Dance music that formed in the early 90's with its glory days occurring between 1992-1994 respectively. A common theme in Eurodance is a Female vocalist and a male vocalist (often as a rapper) singing together to a catchy danceable hard beat with a synth riff, however that is not always the case. Most Eurodance bands originate in Central Europe, with Belgium and the Netherlands being the most common, however it spread to all over the world rather quickly. If you are a early 90's or 80's kid you will no doubt recognise some of these tunes, if not you will still get a bit off enjoyment of them. Eurodance even could be considered as the final death yell for 80's dance before the advent of club music. Well now that you have a gist of what the genre is, here is an example the you are guaranteed to have heard before: Haddaway "What is love?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_U6mWu1XQA&feature=related This song is a good example of Eurodance and it's basic riff, a solid vocalist, steady fast (drum machine) beat and catchy synth, an altogether extremely danceable beat. Now here is some others (as good as what is love) songs, they pretty much sum up the early 90's for me....Well that and sectarian violence and Jurassic Park. EuroDance: 2Unlimited, No Limit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFd5Cci_pE4 Eurodance royalty, 2unlimited's no limit was the track to play on the dance floor, unfortunately in the US it was cut somewhat to replace all of the chorus with "No No No" and "Techno Techno Techno" resulting in the rather funny adium of replacing the title "No Limit" with "No lyrics" Culture Beat, Mr. vain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvgUdrzGNys A staple of my 90's radio listening from 1997-1999. The synth and the base riff just get your blood pumping. Snap, Rhythm is a dancer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMPM1q_Uyxc] fairly well known tune, wonderful sound, brilliant dance floor filler. Dr. Alban, It's my Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcy7g05AbC0 Alban was a Dentist, who decided to make a few tunes to pay for his college fee's. This song in particular became a Eurodance phenomenon, It was very popular in my city during the early 90's. La Bouche, be my lover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P0_v__IOrE fairly good song, La Bouche were big on the scene in Eurodance. Techtronic, Pump Up The Jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EcjWd-O4jI Space Jam...What more can I say?
