So I just got my iPhone and was curious what cases you guys have to see which ones I should get. I know that anything above 20$ really is a rip off.
I'm thinking this one is good:

I've got that for my iPod and aside from the bottom part breaking off it's amazing, I can throw it around without fear

I got this case from a friend the day I got my iPhone 4 because he found the case laying around the library.
I dropped my phone on concrete, threw it on my table when I got home, and even spilled water on the back of it.
My phone still works perfectly, no dents, no scratches. I even dropped it and it landed screen side down.
The sides of the cover saved it from landing on the screen flat, but if it did land on the screen side flat, it would've cracked.
The 4 and 4S are a bit different, so while a 4 case might fit on a 4S, the volume buttons and mute switch won't be perfectly in place. This is due to the new antenna design in the 4S.
Why wrap up a piece of beautiful design? I really don't get it. Everything about the design goes to waste. Be careful with your iPhone instead.

Being careful doesn't prevent damage when an accident inevitably will occur.
Yeah, i mean it IS a phone afterall. Made of glass. :v:
Go with a Otterbox, that's what I have and it's awesome.

plus they're pretty cheap on amazon.
I'm getting the Bookbook for christmas.

As someone who is extremely active, I've had a lot of experience with different cases.
Cases I've owned:
Legitimate apple bumper, broke it. Overpriced.
Silicone wrap around the back type, broke it.*
hard plastic 'incase' wrap around, broke it. Overpriced.*
Now I use generic bumpers, they are just as good as the apple bumper, but WAY cheaper.
They occasionally need super glue to keep the silicone to the plastic. Not a big deal.
Another note, hard cases with no silicone can get very annoying in a car, they will slide everywhere.
*I've found the wrap around types can scratch the back and sides of the phone when dirt/ sand unexpectedly gets back there. This happens a lot with me as I'm always either biking or at the beach.
Screen protectors:
Invisible Shield, although expensive, is the best I've used, and no joke, it's protected from a broken screen more than once. It is sort of rubbery and provides a little cushion/ bounce on a drop.
My phone was once dropped face down in the street then ran over by a truck (bad luck!). The invisible shield was tore up from rocks, but it didn't break the screen. The back however broke, I was using the incase wrap around hard plastic case at this time.
I'm currently using generics, though.
Otterbox Defender is the only way to go in all honesty.
It's not bulky like it's counterpart 3GS version, it's really nice.
No need to put on a screen protector, it's already on the body.
I use one for my iPhone 4.
Otterbox.

Looks like an an easy way to loose both your wallet and your phone at the same time.
Looks like an an easy way to loose both your wallet and your phone at the same time.
Maybe if you suck at keeping track of your things.
I like the case but it's a easy target for pickpockets too.
I like the case but it's a easy target for pickpockets too.
Where the hell do you live that you have pickpockets? Skyrim?
I like the case but it's a easy target for pickpockets too.
I have my phone in my front pocket, always plugged into my headset. Everytime I get on or off a bus I check I didn't lose anything, and I usually walk with one hand in my pocket, which leads me back to the first part again.
I've only lost my phone one way through this, and that was in a bumper-car ride 5 years ago.
Otterbox.
This. I have dropped my 3GS countless times, it would have been broken over a year ago if not for this case. Also, besides the speaker holes, its next to waterproof. I'm going to assume the 4G Otterbox is just as good if not better then the 3GS version.

If you have a local Wal-Mart it's actually like $19.95.

Have you ever been to a city you dim-wit?
Have you ever been to a city you dim-wit?
Yes. Apparently my city doesn't have the same problems that your cities do.
We just have gang and drug issues.
I'm partial to the speck candyshell.

Because it's easy to drop something like a phone, and when your phone is glass on both sides drops will make it easy to fuck it up.

yes. iphone 4/4s is beautiful. but what we really like about our iphones is the apps and all the internal stuffs which makes iphone that spectacular. and having damaged my iphone 3gs screen and paying about $150 to getting fixed i have learnt my lesson and now, i always protect my iphone.
if you are a hardcore user of iphone and you do alot of tough activities, definitely, otterbox is the best protection for your iphone,
http://www.otterbox.com/
if you are like me, and prefer to buy 5-7 cases and alternate the cases to suit your mood, you may like to buy cheaper iphone cases from,
http://saraoutlet.com/iphone-4-cases-iphone4case.html
and, of course you must always buy a good screen protector,
zagg invisibleshield.
http://www.zagg.com/
I disagree with the screen protector. I personally hate the feel of the plastic on them, and I generally hate the fact that I can see the damn thing on every single device I use.
I have this, wanted to be a bit different. Pain in the ass if you have tight pockets but otherwise it's a good case. Certainly surprises people :)

This one's pretty good, I use it for my 3G but its avaliable for 4/4S too.
