• How good of a computer could I get for $700?

I'm not really looking for much in the market of "OHMYGOD YOU CAN RUN THAT ONE GAME THAT LOOKS LIKE REAL LIKE ON ULTRA HIGH WITH A BAGILLION FP". I'm really only looking for a computer that could run newer games like MW2, L4D2 and stuff like that, on moderately high settings. Now I'm not too sure I could, with only $700. But I'm going to at least ask.
For $700, you can run Crysis. I'll put something together for you, show you what you can do.
700 Dollars can build you a nice gaming PC.

I could also knock off $70 of that, because I already have a 500 gig hard drive. Thank you, my good man. [editline]Edited:[/editline] Wait, even Crysis?
I spent around $464 on mine and I can run all Source games maxed. With $700 you can get a pretty good computer.
You would have no issues at all with Crysis.
Not much to dance about really, Crysis wasn't that good of a game.
I'm dancing more because that computer must be fucking amazing, and it's cheap.
my computer cost me about $470 USD and it's maxes out Source games and is able to run Crysis at 30fps all settings on high (but no AA and resolution is 1024x768, but it still looks great)
You're sportin a 4670 right? I got one.
yep, I just OC'ed it too. getting a 5770 in a month possibly
I'm dancing more because that computer must be fucking amazing, and it's cheap.
You probably have gotten only prebuilts before. Most companies will charge a massive labor fee. I myself usually charge 20% (depending on the price of the build), which is high for an independent builder, but pretty low compared to gaming computer brands like Alienware or Puget.

My computer would cost about $400 today and it can run Crysis on high at 40FPS. It's an over-hyped game. I can max out almost anything I throw at it, I can even run GTA 4 (though it makes my parts get pretty hot).
..It doesn't come with it anymore.
You sure? I bought it a little bit ago and it still comes with it.
"A little while ago" There is time between that. Ghost of me is very knowelegable :P
"A little while ago" There is time between that. Ghost of me is very knowelegable :P
Well, I bought it a few weeks ago. Before it was on newegg, no other 5770 had DiRT2 in the description. Also, there are two MSI 5770s, one that has Dirt2 in the description, and one that doesn't. I'm assuming they are the same card except one has Dirt 2 and one doesn't. Unless you bought it recently, or had a friend who bought it and it did not come with DiRT2, sauce on no DiRT 2.
1280x800
Go to 1920x1080 or 1900x1200 and watch your 40 FPS in Crysis drop to 4.
1280x800
PROTIP, that's a tiny resolution.
PROTIP, that's a tiny resolution.
Technically it would be a big resolution. Size is flipped when talking about resolution.
Technically it would be a big resolution. Size is flipped when talking about resolution.
The number of pixels is low. The resolution is tiny.
>i3 no bro just no
Do you have anything to back that statement up? It's a dual core with hyperthreading, what's not to love?
