Thats actually really cool, my roommate used to have one of those sets of ambient lights that would hook into games and colour themselves based only on the screen, but this is like that x1000

Seems like a big distraction and headache to me.
I haven't seen anything like this before and that's what counts. It's nice to see unique ideas.
It honestly feels a bit distracting at times, the focus+context selective seems kind of good though.
It might be because you're watching it on a camera, rather than being there.
Apparently it looks bad from any point of view other than the one it's been calibrated for.

According to?

The last thread about this and common sense.
Hmmm... Garrys Mod, Counter Strike and Metro 2033. Jesus, this would be awesome with those.
I love how the controller input interceptor was built into an Altoids tin. :v:
And that WAS Super Tux Cart.
So this is basically a Kinect plus a projector?
Not that it's not a cool idea, it's great, but really this is all about new software since they already had most of the hardware technology ready with the Kinect.
It's a neat concept I just don't feel it's really for gaming.
I'd wait for this to develop. The whole "Turning the wall into a giant game screen" is a neat concept, but there needs to be some kind of computation to prevent warping around real-life object edges, as that seems to be the most distracting.
That being said, making your living room have a cell-shaded look is pretty damn awesome.

I can't think of another use for this.
I mean, would you really watch a movie like that? That doesn't seem like a lot of fun. Though this could add peripheral vision to the player, which seems like a neat idea.
doesnt look that interesting, i would prefer having an oculus rift.
But its nice to get new ideas.
This is so fucking cool, I want it right now.
That looks amazing. I am guessing it will feel like ambilight does for TVs, where they are really noticable and distracting if you watch something just for watching the ambilight/illumiroom, but if you are focusing on the TV, it really adds to the feel.
Seems neat, I'd like it if it wasn't for the fact that it seems kind of like an expensive stopgap (with the cost of the projector and the kinect) to VR/atmosphere that goes beyond the screen. A stopgap that isn't needed because the actual ideal VR/AR-style solution is already here and arriving soon (occulus rift)

Yeah, Oculus looks so much better than this.
This is a pretty old idea actually :v:
Neat, it's like a VR light edition.

This might be better for a small group of people sitting on the sofa, where the Rift is meant for one person.

Why an Altoids container?

Because 3D printers are expensive.

Honestly I think this is pretty cool. To be honest it does seem like a headache at times though. The one effect I really like is the snow though, that one was flawless. Didn't distract at all, it actually really helped the immersion.
It's a cool novelty for a VR arcade or something but like...I don't really see myself spending money on it
Looks cool as shit!
I reckon this would be so fucking cool for movies or tv shows, could you imagine watching the walking dead and having simulated blood being projected onto your carpet or furniture? That'd totally boost up the entertainment value
hook that shit up to a visual novel.
The extended field of view thing looks awful, having the screen be so tiny and the projection take up the entire wall.
Fuck, might as well cut the middle man and just have the entire game being projected onto a blank wall.
