YES.
This was like the only show that tried to relate to "nerds", they actually did their research and took the time getting little inside jokes into the show. I literally watched all episodes two night ago.
I've only seen short clips on Youtube (which were all funny, of course, it's well written and has some good actors), but what the hell is up with the laugh track? People complain about Big Bang Theory overusing it, this show is even worse with it.

IIRC the first series was in front of a live audience, not sure about the rest.
I'm also pretty sure that the first couple of BBT were also done in front of an audience.

The first series of the IT Crowd was filmed infront of a live audience, the Big Bang Theory was also and AFAIK still is.
People just bitch because they want any reason to hate BBT. Apparently the crap writting and stereotyped characters aren't enough.
The title saying "Finale special" implies they're doing one last episode but the quote implies they're trying to pull off another season, can someone clarify which?

Probably pulling another series off (and it being the last), since I've heard rumors almost six months ago that they were pushing for it, seems it's confirmed now.

I dunno, I always felt the jokes in IT Crowd were more clever and felt satisfied in the end. The jokes have a point and climax while the big bang theory's jokes are all sort of spaced and just make fun of people for being nerds. IT Crowd rarely makes fun of the character's for being who they are, just how awkward it is because of it. Big Bang Theory is almost always a show about nerds being funny because they are nerdy.

Everything about BBT is stereotypical: the characters fit extreme moulds from various subcultures; their interactions are predictable and sometimes degrading; and the jokes just mimic whatever is popular. The IT Crowd, on the other hand, is an intelligently written look at various subcultures and lifestyles coming together. The characters and the situations are exaggerated, but they also feel very real and relatable. It's a down to earth show parodying the silly things about culture, whereas BBT is a fake spectacle about getting cheap laughs at the expense of others.

It's just not funny with American accents and the lack of liveliness of the characters, I don't see how the producers don't notice this.
Yeah the accents really do the British version wonders. The American women just sounds too much like what people who impersonate American accents do.
