I had so high hopes for Wildstar when it was in beta. Sad that it turned out to be a piece of shit. Combat was pretty fun tho.
I'm surprised it's even alive at this point.

Idk I didn't think it was a piece of shit. I think the main issue was riding the hype train of ex-WoW devs, improving on WoW mechanics pretty much.
Played it for about a week and got utterly bored, even though the game itself is good, after playing SWG for years then WoW at release for like 5 years, MMORPG genre is dead to me. I find myself not able to play one for more than a couple of days before I just think 'what am I actually doing here?', logging off and not playing again.

The combat was hands down the best I've ever played in an MMO, I loved the setting and lore and style, too bad the endgame is arse and the PvP is very chaotic.
Game would have been a potential, genuine wow-killer if it wasn't so fucking grindy

wasn't surprising seeing as they were focusing on the "it's like vanilla WoW guys!!!!" aspect
seemingly without thinking that the reason vanilla WoW changed was because that sort of MMO became extinct in the later 2010's
