• Game Recording Software Problem (taking suggestions)

I want to record vids with my steam friend, I've tried only one recording tool at this time and it's CamStudio, this is my experience: First downloaded, started recording. Then when I finished recording this five minute video of me playing L4D2 online, it opened up Windows Media Player, and played a super glitchy render of what seemed to be what I just recorded, no game footage whatsoever, just desktop, oh and did I mention the colors were funky too? Pink and green and purple I remember, and it wasn't a perfect screen capture, considering it was shaking violently and fragments of the screen went from one side to the other and it just looked like the Ring. Post your suggestion for the best screen recorder you think there is, and that you're happy with, or just find a solution to my little CamStudio predicament... Oh yes, the program has to be free (don't like spending money)
Camstudio is designed and optimized for desktop capture, not game capture. Your best bet for something free and legal is probably Xfire, Gamecam, or wegame.
You should try MSI Afterburner. It's really good if you want something free. If you want more options buy Dxtory. Only ¥3.600 or about 44$/33€.
I'm using MSI Afterburner and DXTory. Dxtory is similar to Afterburner. Trying to record ingame stuff, you won't get any fps loss. Dxtory comes with a price, but it's worth it. You can also check some videos on Youtube about it...
