http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-339-IN This what I have, I'm planning to get windows 7 although do is get 32 bit or 64 bit? I suppose if I can get 64bit I should, although does that processor allow for 64 bit windows 7 and having 64 bit windows 7 does that still allow me to still run 32bit applications and games without any issues?
can you run 64 bit ---> yes ---> get 64 bit
64bit can do everything 32bit can. Yes that processor will allow for 64bit. The only downside to 64bit is some old programs might not run (but we're talking about really old stuff that probably wouldn't run anyway). It also depends on the rest of your build. Do you plan on exceeding 4gb of total ram (vram included)? If so then 64bit is the way to go.
Yeah i will be exceeding 4gb thanks :)
lol 32bit
I would get 64 bit even if I had under 4GB RAM, because you can always add more later
Let's see. You can have more... OR you can have LESS. Ooooo! Wow let's all take less!
I've never seen 7 32-bit priced less than 64-bit. There is no reason I can think of to get a 32-bit operating system other than compatibility with 20+ year old applications.
ok thanks for sharing I guess?
He was saying there's no need for 16-bit compatibility when you can get computers like that by the truckload at your local dump.
Yeah only reason I could think of for getting 32bit OS is if it is significantly cheaper than the 64bit version.
Which I have never seen happen ever. I've never seen a 32-bit version of 7 even slightly cheaper than a 64-bit.

If you really need 16 bit compatibility, install a vm
64bit, better for gaming, nuff said

Just found one reason to get 32 bit. The USB WiFi dongle for my project comes with drivers that are incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Installed 32-bit, problem solved. Not enough reason to justify it, in my opinion, since I'm putting in XP anyways.
