The NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Z is an engineering beauty powering the next iteration of enthusiast and high performance gaming PCs. The GeForce GTX Titan Z isn’t specifically aimed at gamers and is also available for developers and content creators who can now use the power of dual GK110 cores to develop rich content.
The flagship GeForce GTX Titan Z will replace the GeForce GTX 690 boasting dual-GK110 cores compared to dual-GK104 cores on its predecessor. The GeForce GTX Titan Z will feature two GK110 cores with 5760 Cuda Cores, 448 TMUs and 96 ROPs. This mean that the GeForce GTX Titan Z is featuring the full GK110 specifications as opposed to the rumors which said it would rather use the cut-down GK110 core with 2496 Cores, 208 TMUs and 40 ROPs. Other specs include a 384-bit x 2 bus which will run across a massive 12 GB VRAM. This is an impressive feature giving developers and games an unprecedented amount of VRAM for use. The clock speeds are not confirmed but the GeForce GTX Titan Z features a maximum single precision performance of 8 TFlops which is really impressive.
The GeForce GTX Titan Z is expected to launch in Mid – 2014 and will cost a massive $2999 US which way higher that the previous Dual-Chip entries from NVIDIA. Clock frequencies are not know but we will be looking at moderate frequencies since NVIDIA will tone down the power consumption around the 350W barrier since they have put a high emphasis on their graphics cards quality in terms of temperatures, acoustics, design and performance. Good luck selling that Nvidia.
I could build 2 powerful gaming rigs for that kind of money. I wonder if it's really justifiable buying a card like that in terms of performance.

nope, not if you're not making games
Talk about overkill.

I almost wonder if you couldn't match the performance of this with 4-way SLI? I mean, four 780s will run you about half this, and that'd be pretty beastly. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this card actually is...
I'd imagine that you would turn this thing on, and every single light on your street would immediately flicker.

That's what people said about the original. If people have the money, they'll buy it.
I don't really understand what market they're aiming for. People after CUDA for GPGPU will go to the Tesla line and I struggle to believe that even the people who bought Titan or any of the ASUS Mars/Ares stuff will shell out for this. Maybe it's just a proof of concept but it's baffling.
The sad thing is, I know someone who will probably buy it anyway. His response to Rome II at 30 fps was buying the current titan and a whole new computer, then found out he would of gotten 60 fps anyway if he had waited for patches.
You are missing the point of this guys.
You buy it for your struggling game (or any other) company, let it run for a couple of hours unsupervised, the office burns down, you collect insurance.
I'm more of a faulty wiring kinda guy, but this would work well in certain situations.
Welcome to the Titan Z
You've just entered the Danger Zone

This isn't designed for a consumer in mind. It's for developers.
TB is going to buy 4.
There's so many beautiful things you could buy with 3000 bucks
I think it's a bit misleading to call it a GTX Titan if it's for developers, why not call it a Quadro card like their other dev cards instead?
The 8TFlops spec is impressive, but I'm curious if you could pull some SLI magic with some less powerful/cheaper cards for high performance scientific computing clusters.

more like it'd burn the whole block down

yea like a nvidia gtx titan z and have $1 left over for a cool $1 item
TB is going to buy 4.
And then he is going to quad SLI them
Can it run Crysis

Or lots and lots of booze

This is not for consumer use. This is for industrial use in mission critical scenarios. Why do people consistently fail to see this?
This is not for consumer use. This is for industrial use in mission critical scenarios. Why do people consistently fail to see this?
Because it's called a GTX card, which is a consumer card, instead of a Quadro card.
This is not for consumer use. This is for industrial use in mission critical scenarios. Why do people consistently fail to see this?
Because it caters to developers and consumers? It's geared towards developers, but they want to keep the availability to consumers since it's no secret many consumers want to have the "best" machine no matter the cost.
Good luck selling that Nvidia.
And people will still SLI them
12GB of VRAM? christ
Imagine using this to mine crypto currencies.
Good luck selling that Nvidia.
People will buy 4 of these in sli.
I was waiting for the 790 :v: oh well, will have to see what it is in the UK.
