How to add videos to XBMC from an external HDD? (aeon skin)

I've got about 20 movies, mostly .avi files with .sub subtitle files that I want to add to the Movies library in xbmc, I've been trying for like 30 minutes but I don't get how to do it.
I can browse the HDD and watch them but the aren't added to the Videos gallery.

The gallery is empty and says: This library is empty, populate it via the videos window.
I go to the videos part and I can't do shit there either.

Help please?

you could try FTPing the files into the xbox from your computer, I don't think there's a way to copy files to the hard drive that way. Then again, my softmodded XBMC xbox only has a 5GB hard drive...
