Posted it in the listening to thread earlier. It's pretty ok.
Here's Dancing in the Dark by Lady GaGa, which isn't nearly as decent.

That pretty good. I agree with it sounding like Sigur Ros, rather Post-Rock/Shoegaze sounding. Now only if he could make music like this.
[QUOTE=Mooe94;24131721]It's called PaulStretch
Open-source and free: [url]http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/[/url][/QUOTE]
In case anyone wants to try it for themself.
This is pretty damn cool sounding.
I think I may grab that Paulstretch program and see what happens when I do this to random songs.
Thanks for the post, OP.
Believe me, any song will work. If it has a bit of silence at the beginning, you might want to edit it out. 2 seconds can become 30 easily.
It's like a soundtrack to a movie, that's damn cool! *Goes to go do this to random songs*
Most of the songs I tried sounded like shit.
[QUOTE=scotland1;24141551]Most of the songs I tried sounded like shit.[/QUOTE]
What songs have you tried?
I've done it to Fear Factory's "Mechanize" and "Oxidizer," as well as A DARK HALO's "Formatting..." and "Apex Realized," and they all sound pretty good.
Just have to get past the 30 seconds or so of pure noise that seems to be generated at the beginning of each song.
Fun fact, Fear Factory's "Mechanize," when you slow it down 800% and render as a .wav, is slightly over 1gb in size. :fuckyou:
Surprisingly good. I also agree with the Sigur Ros similarity.
it's the voice mostly. Jonsi sounds very much like a child, and Bieber is one
this is fucking ambient brilliance
[editline]06:29PM[/editline]
the intro to last rites/loved to deth is fucking insane if you put it through paulstretch
[editline]06:35PM[/editline]
oh god the peace sells intro is so fucking evil sounding
[editline]06:38PM[/editline]
this is the scariest computer program ever written
Holy fuck.
I don't think this could ever create anything bad. Every song i've tried sounds awesome.

How did /mu/ making a fake band responsible for this qualify as news to anyone, let along MTV?
Are they just that bored during the summer that they have nothing better to worry about than who made what terrible ambient nonsense?
saw this yesterday somewere else, it's amazing.
Sounds like the background music to a Discovery Channel programme about space - I can almost hear a narrator over the top. It's awesome.
ChoPped N SKreWed
Wow... Never thought I'd say this about anything related to Bieber...
That was actually pretty cool.

Now for the original... it isn't great.
Try Sweet Child O' Mine slowed to the same speed.
Brilliant.

It's What's Going On by Marvin Gaye.
The beginning sounds a bit evil compared to the original but I think its really moving once it gets it's stride after 30 seconds.
:iia:
Sounds quite ethereal. Cool.
Manly tears are shed.
I could die to this music.
I think the effect is lost a little on music I'm familiar with though, because I'm constantly trying to mentally sing along with it.
I personally think mine is better, but I'm biased so oh well :smug:
Just tried out that soft on some random songs
Metal sounds beautiful
Twist and Shout by The Beatles is fucking sinister when slowed down 20-something times.
Just slowed down Girls on Film by Duran Duran. It sounds awesome.
Bohemian Rhapsody is sounding promising so far
post the 7000th woo

I agree.
I'm going to go try it on Necrophagist's "Stabwound," and see what happens.
[editline]fish[/editline]
I would never have imagined Necrophagist could sound so... relaxed. :aaaaa:
The guitar almost sounds like a flute.
