America - The richest country or not? - General

Some say America is the richest country in the world, but is that really the case? What and why do you think they are/aren't the richest country in the world? For one, I heard America has huge debts. While we're on the topic of America, what are the major reasons why they are the current superpowers? I know a little, but I'd like to hear your opinions on these two subjects.

You can't really "think" that a place is the richest, simply because they either ARE the richest, or they are NOT the richest.

America is a superpower due to it's army's sizes and the nuclear weapons it has. It's rate of production of goods and supplies also makes it a power. However, militarily, America is inferior to several nations, notably China in terms of number and the UK in terms of training.

I live in Europe, Germany sucks balls in Economy, no offense. But it goes downhill, I live in Luxembourg, it's a small country full of selfish rich snobish bastards. We have the best paid jobs of the world. People suck major balls though.

China has its military a decade or two behind USA, and UK doesn't train some elite supersoldiers only.

It's an accepted statistic. We also have the SAS and Royal Marines, the SAS being considered the best elite group in the world (I didn't get my claims from COD either).

China is America's 2nd largest exporter of goods, meaning American gets a very good percent of its goods from China. If China were to suddenly break all trades with America, America's economy would be worse than it is today.

How do you determite a rich country? Alot of money? Alot of natural recourses? High Gross domestic product rate? Alot of government corporations? How about if there are environmental troubles? And no free public health care? And GDP is unevenly spread, lots really rich people and lots of really poor people?
