So yeah. Everything's plugged in properly but it won't post with it in. If I pull it out it'll boot fine with the integrated drivers. Mobo is a Z68MA-G45 (B3) running e7676IMS V17.4 PSU is rated at 750w. Another post suggested the BIOS probably needs updating (this I think) but I'd rather not just try and flash it without exhausting other potential options.
try disconnecting every usb device you have and then doing it, aside from maybe the mouse or keyboard if that doesn't work, remove your ram and maybe move both to the other slots I had it sometimes randomly happen to me, but it stopped once I did that. I have no idea why but USB devices cause me issues. another thing you could do is try a different display slot
Don't have another machine I can test it in unfortunately. If I pop it into the PCI slot the fans will run and everything appears to be running fine, it just won't post. Mouse and keyboard are the only USB things plugged in already. I also tried shoving it in the other PCI bus I have but it's too big to fit.
For sure.
One person said older MSI boards tend to have issues with new cards so I was going to try and update the BIOS with those beta drivers before going through the return process. I wanna make sure I'm using the right ones though, since this doesn't have my exact model, though it seems to have the exact version (e7676IMS)
And now I'm trying to get my OLD card (6850) to work and it won't. Everything's plugged in fine and it'll start, but when I try and install the drivers it says they're already there. When I launch Catalyst Control Center, it says nothing's installed. Neither of my monitors are receiving a signal from the card either.
Catalyst control centre are not your drivers. Use driversweeper to remove them.
I ended up fixing it by just reinstalling the drivers and resetting the cmos. 280x still won't work though. Going to see if I can't borrow a computer in the morning to test it with before RMA'ing it.
