Well, I finally got around to flashing a ROM to my phone. Installed CyanogenMod 7 and GApps onto my Huawei Ascend, and it's working decently enough.
Except that for some reason or another, the error "process.android.media has stopped unexpectedly" keeps coming up. Most notably, however, it's preventing me from properly re-installing GMail and Youtube from the Market. I already cleared the Media Storage under Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Media Storage, and rebooted after doing so, but I still get the error.
Any ideas? Or will I just have to either format my SD card or, god forbid, reflashing Cyanogen and GApps?

Doing so...
Nope, fuck, still happens when I try to install Gmail.
Even if I run it, close it, re-open it, and run it again, there's always 117 things to be done. Going to try fix_permissions directly followed by a reboot to see.
Still occurs roughly 2 minutes after start-up as some sort of foreboding "fuck you kid".
Any other tips?
Reflashed ROM -- it happens when I reinstall GApps.
Using MDPI-20110613 signed, which was recommended for my device.
I had this happen. It's probably corrupted file on sdcard, find the file/format sdcard. It helped in my case.
Formatted - reinstalled, still happened, formatted again, market still crashes.
Might be worth mentioning that Market crashes religiously, too, even when not in use.
I think I fixed it myself. I'm able to fucking use Marketplace to download Gmail.
Let's see if Gmail WORKS.

Yep, fixed it!
Generally that happens when /data/data is full, but obviously you found a solution.
Mind telling us what you did to fix it?
