Hey facepunch, after considering it for awhile, I have decided to start a games journalism/industry/musing blog. This was slightly pushed by the current facepunch initiative to create our own review site.
I published my first article/post this evening, "Where do we go from here?"
I would really appreciate any feedback you guys have on this, and maybe put in any thoughts you have your own on this matter.

Thanks a lot
it's not poorly written, but it's not written well enough to keep me intrigued. maybe it's just poor topic choice since everyone and their moms have written about "oh gee, i don't know what's next for gaming"

although i do enjoy the more "default" wordpress layout. who would expect a gaming blog not to be heavy in blacks, reds, and blues (technology colors)
The thing that will drive this kind of thing - which so many people would have thought of to do before - is creative writing. Not only in content but in structure. Whilst there isn't necessarily anything wrong with the grammar you're using if you want to differentiate yourself and make your opinion interesting start with getting a stronger grasp of writing as a science and an art. It's both.
I think that since you've made the first step it's probably more likely to succeed than someone who hasn't.
What you need is regular, interesting content. Use it to start working on changing your sentence structuring up. You write like I do, which I'd like to say is great but it's very bland. <<< that sentence there? The problem is the comma. Same with the sentence that started this paragraph. Commas make things seem long winded and boring.
Use other punctuation, change your sentences up, use interesting but not incomprehensible vocabulary. Words that have their definition implicit in their roots. That in the context make sense even if you don't know what they mean.
It's really hard to do. To be able to make an interesting blog you need to be interested in writing. Read Jerry Holkins from Penny Arcade, half the time he's saying things and I have no clue what they are but I keep reading because the words and the sentences themselves are so compelling.
This is all hypocritical criticism because like I said, I write in a very similar style to you. Get technical with everything you write then get creative and you'll be writing good stuff.
Good luck!
Don't use a .wordpress.com site
How are you wanting to present your blog here, because I can tell you in terms of formal writing you have a lot of work to do. However speaking from a creative writing/non-formal point of view, you are doing decently.
I thought the title said "Journalism/muslim" blog at first
Things I tell my colleagues starting up is, take feedback, improve upon yourself as you go, and having fun with it. Not really in that order though. It really shows if you are having a great time writing it. People can see/feel the tone of your writing. Also as long as you are enjoying yourself, you can keep writing and writing.
I know it's a blog, but I'm a sucker for pictures with captions. Something every few paragraphs (especially some long ones!) that just helps to break it up and give the reader a breather. Obviously not necessary for everyone, but some people just have short attention spans.
It's not that bad of a bump.

Every other article is about how israel needs to be destroyed.

I think it's very necessary with how the website looks. The theme is fine, but it's a bit dull. The current wall of words on a simple background like that is a turn-off.
I'll suck yer dick for a good review
