Next thursday, the PC-building competition "Intel's Kitchen" will get aired. It all began with a humble invitation. During the early parts of September, a tryout was conducted for the competition, which will be held in Stockholm, where the many PC-builders and modders of SweClockers got the chance to apply for a competition out of the ordinary. Intel's Kitchen is a competition between six teams, with two people in each, where the goal is to assemble the fastest, functioning PC as quickly as possible. The teams won't know what kind of components they can choose from until the competition's begun, but it's also not just about making a PC with good raw-performance. In order to win, your system must have a perfect balance between raw-performance, the price/performance ratio, stability, and aesthetics. The entire thing builds around good teamwork, quick-thinking, and calm nerves. To emphasize the last point, the competition will be held infront of an audience, together with the famous (in Sweden) and talkative TV-show duo Erik & Mackan. The winning team will receive two copies of the system they've assembled, but they can also choose to receive other products which holds the same value. They will then also give the system a name, as it will be sold as a finished package solution by some resellers. With several decades of experience regarding advanced computer systems behind his back, he's certain to detect problems that others might miss. this is so ridiculous [sp]id totally watch it[/sp]
I have a feeling Team Blue is gonna win
can I watch this with live subs
Intel? So I'm guessing no AMD builds allowed? Which basically rules out £500~ builds, but since this about having the 'best' builds...
Pretty funny twist on the kitchen competition tv which suddenly has boomed in sweden
I can't imagine how this show can last for more than 3 episodes
can we get gordon ramsay to judge this
I can't imagine how this show can last for more than 3 episodes
I'm pretty sure this is a one-off hosted at DreamHack.
can we get gordon ramsay to judge this
THAT COMPUTER IS FROZEEEEN
could you imagine unlimited access to the best parts for a PC fuck me, it'd be like all those times where I built a PC with the most expensive parts, except I could do it for real bah
This show speaks to me on a personal level, it'd be more cerebral/entertaining than most crap on US TV.
I can't imagine how this show can last for more than 3 episodes
Pretty sure it will just consist of one episode
can we get gordon ramsay to judge this
"What is this dung heap? It couldn't even fucking run Doom!"
oh god that last pic is a dream for me
oh god that last pic is a dream for me
??? Whatever floats your boat, I guess
[del]Sweden's[/del] We're awesome :v:
can we get gordon ramsay to judge this
YOU CAN'T SERVE A PREBUILT MACHINE TO THE CUSTOMERS YOU DONKEY IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A GPU
This could be interesting. I can get a system together in about 12 minutes ready for installing windows. Isn't very pretty though.
can we get gordon ramsay to judge this
THAT HARD DRIVE'S FILESYSTEM IS STILL RAW
Intel? So I'm guessing no AMD builds allowed? Which basically rules out £500~ builds, but since this about having the 'best' builds...
I'm hoping like, they go big with like custom cases and custom liquid cooling loops but idk we'll see
THAT HARD DRIVE'S FILESYSTEM IS STILL RAW
Look at this. LOOK AT THIS. 32 BIT. DISGUSTING.
way to make this idea even BETTER: send all the PC's that dont win to me because i'm sure anything they build will be better than this laptop :v:
They should make it so the contestants have to code their own OS in the fastest time possible Anyone can build a computer given an instruction booklet (and motivation)
They should make it so the contestants have to code their own OS in the fastest time possible Anyone can build a computer given an instruction booklet (and motivation)
if they know how to program a computer on such a low level as to create an operating system then they should be on a microsoft campus, not on a gameshow
Look at all those razer products that will be too expensive to use.
Intel? So I'm guessing no AMD builds allowed? Which basically rules out £500~ builds, but since this about having the 'best' builds...
Intel sort of pushed AMD out of the market recently. AMD would have to put something out at any tier that can compete with Intel, which is something AMD can't currently do considering a $50 Intel chip OCs cool to beat out their $150 chips.
I hope this is in english, because I would watch it
Anyone can build a computer given an instruction booklet (and motivation)
And anyone can run, given that they have functional legs. Still takes training to do it really efficiently
Look at this. LOOK AT THIS. 32 BIT. DISGUSTING.
What the FUCK are you DOING? wireless nic only? GET THE FUCK OUT!
