computer troubles. Help me Facepunch, you're my only hope!

So I was on my computer, not a long time, and suddenly it turned itself off. Then it turned itself back on and off and on and...
I don't know what is wrong or any thoughts on what to do. any ideas?
ANYTHING AT THIS POINT IS HELP!
Ok settle down. What are your computer specs. What were you doing when your computer shut off. Can you boot into safe mode. Are there any beep codes during startup?
If you can boot into Windows, try downloading HWMonitor. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Keep HWMonitor running and keep it visible. Try to recreate the event. Watch the temps as you recreate the event. Post the temps that you saw right before your computer turned off. Computers will turn off if overheated.
Also check to make sure your power button isn't stuck. That can cause rapid restarting.
OP's avatar is funny. Fits situation perfectly.
sounds good
after the POST(BIOS) screen, press f8 like a monkey hyped on cocaine.
Select option: Disable automatic reboot on system failure.
Tell us what the bluescreen is.
Or better yet, just upload your Windows/minidump folder.

Bad reading; he can't boot into windows. Doubt this kid has a WinPE or Live Linux.

Fun fact, you don't have to press F8 like a monkey hyped on cocaine. You just have to wait until the end of the POST sequence.

I have had it where usb keyboards won't catch it in time.
Then just wait for your motherboard to recognise it. Mine displays it as a prompt on the POST sequence.
Ok cool
OP is a bot that only says nonchalant acknowledgements.

What he said
AHHH right, Sorry about that! Did it, got no bluescreen, and... it turned off again! (what happened was it started turning on normally and at a point in the log in it turned off like normal.)
...Could it be...a BIOS instability? Something wrong with the HDD?
Does the entire PC turn off?
I'd imagine so.
Does the entire PC turn off?
yes, the entire PC turns off, every time. Its starting to sound bad, maybe even... wipe the hard drive bad :( ????????
I don't know
Definitely sounds like a power supply problem.
Huh? No it doesn't?
What?!?!?!?
Huh? No it doesn't?
Why doesn't it?
I mean, it sounds reasonable to me.
Because if it were PSU trouble it wouldn't make it to booting Windows at all.

if its a old PSU, and there is a lot of demand being asked from it.. not really.
This problem does sound synonymous with overclocking on some certain boards.
OP are you overclocking?
