• Laptop overheating shutdown

My laptop has been suffering from random shutdowns during somewhat demanding games or processes. I am guessing that its due to some dust buildup, but I might be wrong. I am also wondering what is the best course of action, as I have not dealt with similar problems before. The laptop is an Asus G50VT Here's a speccy snapshot: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/zx2hWdyNZjDehupCqazozBn And here is a HWMonitor screenshot: My reasoning behind me believing my problem comes from overheating is that I doubt 80c is a normal temperature for a laptop currently only browsing the internet, During games I've managed to see it hit around 90c+, around there it gives up completely. Though yet there appears to be no long-term damage caused, and its actual performance remains great until it goes off. This problem have been going on for about 2 years now. Any help and advice is appreciated.
Is it on a flat surface or do you have it on a bed or couch or something? Also are the vents clean, is there proper airflow?
The laptop is standing on a flat surface, but in its current position (Which is not at home) It has a rather bad airflow, but currently I can't get it a better one. Even when it has good airflow, this seems to happen, giant fans and open windows seem to do nothing. The vents are somewhat hard to examine, to do that I need to open the entire laptop, which I'm willing to do to fix this problem. I am also considering purchasing some sort of external fan pad, several friends of mine with overheating issues bought one and fixed the problem rather well. I guess that would work, have you gotten a can of air and dusted it out though?
I guess that would work, have you gotten a can of air and dusted it out though?
I plan on doing so as I come home from my 3 day vacation, as I have a can of air at home that I tend to use on my main computer. Its just that I use this laptop so rarely that I tend to forget about the overheating issue until I have to use it.
