TVtag announced the shutdown in an email to users Friday afternoon, which stated that users had just a few days left to manually request the export of their data by emailing the TVtag team. The email reads, in part:
“Later this month, we will be shutting down tvtag and its supporting apps in order to refocus our efforts on other initiatives. (…) We’re grateful for all your support over the last four years. You’ve helped us build an incredible community of fellow TV fans. We’ll miss it dearly.”

I've never even heard of this.
basically its foursquare, but you check into a tv show you watch instead of a location
basically its foursquare, but you check into a tv show you watch instead of a location
Oh, now I remember this. I remember people "checking into" Mad Men and Walking Dead and shit while browsing Twitter. Always thought it was kinda dumb.
basically its foursquare, but you check into a tv show you watch instead of a location
You could also check in to watching movies and other things too.
I came in thinking some youtuber died. Never heard of this service.
I remember when there was a thread for this back when it first opened up Basically you won free stickers by watching ads for TV shows and movies, eventually they dropped the physical sticker part and everyone stopped caring
I remember when there was a thread for this back when it first opened up Basically you won free stickers by watching ads for TV shows and movies, eventually they dropped the physical sticker part and everyone stopped caring
I actually have some physical stickers back from the GetGlue era still sticking around next to me! However some batches of requests unfortunately went MIA, probably never to be seen by anyone outside of USPS or Canada Post ever again.
lol I misread the title. I thought it began operation on Dec 31, 2014 and shut down the day after...
However some batches of requests unfortunately went MIA, probably never to be seen by anyone outside of USPS or Canada Post ever again.
So that's where my stickers went, good to know.
for those who for some reason can't live without this, try viggle. http://viggle.com/ basically the same thing, but you can build up the points for free things (movie rental/purchases, music, other things). it also has a horrible ad campaign on tv.
I ordered my stickers and never got them. :(
What is even a social TV service? We don't watch TV to be social, I don't get it.
I ordered my stickers and never got them. :(
Good to know I wasn't the only one that didn't receive subsequent ones.
