Russian legislators have scrapped the idea of adding an article on violation of believers’ feelings, Interfax cites Yaroslav Nilov, head of the committee for public associations and religious organizations. The punishment for such violations would have been fined with 300,000 rubles, or a violator’s wage of 2 years, or sentenced to compulsory community service for 240 hours, or compulsory community service for up to a year or a year in prison.
http://vestnikkavkaza.net/news/society/39276.html Couldn't find a better source. Surprisingly not much about it outside of the motherland. To those uninfromed - the law is so well worded anyone can be called violating it. Still nothing said what kind of believers are under protection of the law. What if I believe in Valhal? Tl;dr Russia is an ortodox secular country
Suddenly, the Orthodox Church has to start worshipping Putin as a fellow of God? It's like Tsar Nicholas II all over again :v:
How do you establish that you are a believer? Does the judge ask you "Do you really and truly believe you believe?" and you respond "I believe so"?
