Alright here is the story: I have been thinking of getting a Vertex 2 for a while but the vertex 3 is coming out soon. I have a i7-920 and my motherboard only has sata II connecters. The Vertex 3 will get about/around 500MB read/write and Sata II won't be able to manage that. So is a Vertex 3 a good Boot Disc since I have around 5TB of storage of HDD inside this pc. Do I need a Sata III controller and if so which one? Do I need a new motherboard and which one? Thanks.
You'll want SATA III if you get a Vertex 3, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816115072&cm_re=sata_3-_-16-115-072-_-Product is a cheap one with good ratings.
Alright thanks for the help. That card is about 50 euro in my country. http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/247777/highpoint-rocket-620.html#tab:prices http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/ I geuss that card will do the trick.
