Thanks god for that, the abuse of soulless virtual and imaginary characters has to stop. [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] Just think of the (nonexitent) children!
Fix your source. It redirects us to the ellipses-including shortened link. Also I bought a loli dress for my girlfriend. Would I have to return that under french law?
Don't get me wrong lolicon is fucked up but I mean, as long as nobody is physically harmed I don't see the problem with it. I don't think it's my place to judge people for the things they find attractive, as long as the production of said things happens without anyone being violated.
Kinda torn about it. While I don't think it should be freely available. From what I read, it does help people who are pedophiles to uh vent and reduces a lot of issues. how do you determine the age of something in a drawing? [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] article won't open so I don't know if it says how they doing it
I can sort of see the logic behind criminalising it, but making it equivalent to regular CP is just pants-on-head retarded.

Porn is a good thing; it reduces violent sex crimes
how do you determine the age of something in a drawing? [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] article won't open so I don't know if it says how they doing it
You can tell when a character is obviously meant to be a child; there's a little bit of a gray area, but I get the feeling that the courts will urge on the side of "caution".
I can sort of see the logic behind criminalising it, but making it equivalent to regular CP is just pants-on-head retarded.
Yeah, I mean does anyone really deserve 5 years in prison for having a bunch of drawings?
who is this gonna help?
who is this gonna help?
By banning things the vast majority of people consider unpleasant (or won't admit to enjoying), they can curry favour with the electorate. So, politicians.
Until somebody shows me a study of how art produced with no real children involved in the production leads to abuse of real children, I refuse to agree this should be anything but legal. Thing is that kiddy fiddling was common probably before our civilization existed in any shape or form and has been documented countless times through history, and lolicon is sorta a relatively new thing, so good luck with arguing anything like that. Whoever blindly argues this stuff should get people into jail is uptight, misinformed, and probably xenophobic.
who is this gonna help?
Foxconn and his lolicon habit. :v:
Fixed the link. Law applies for drawing of -15 years old.
Loli is not physical porn, it's drawings, drawn by people. Banning drawings is against freedom of speech. What's drawn is from an artists mind and not actual abuse or an actual person, it's fake, make believe. Banning imagery is one step towards global censorship. What next, dipication of rape, violence in a drawing or a video game becomes illegal?
Wasn't there a study recently that pretty much showed that legal lolicon/shota helped prevent pedophiles from going after real CP instead? Edit: I found it http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1163134&
fictional media should never be illegal, full stop why aren't we making fictional depiction of murder illegal yet? think of all of those counter strike players (ahem, murderers!)
I can sort of see the logic behind criminalising it, but making it equivalent to regular CP is just pants-on-head retarded.
They're trying to "protect children" from viewing porn, including drawn porn. This whole thing is stupid to be honest, you can't censor the internet.
Always nice to see France get worse. Seriously though, this is retarded.
Wasn't these an article with a study recently that pretty much showed that legal lolicon/shota helped prevent pedophiles from going after real CP instead?
Real children, too.
Gotta protect pixels from dirty eyes
Wasn't there a study recently that pretty much showed that legal lolicon/shota helped prevent pedophiles from going after real CP instead?
Yeah, this law is kind of retarded because CP is illegal and people still manage to get their hands on it. So now that there isn't a legal alternative, pedophiles are going to go straight to the CP, which does harm people, unlike a simple drawing, which harms nobody. It'd be nice if heavy handed politicians took this kind of stuff into account.
how do you determine the age of something in a drawing? [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] article won't open so I don't know if it says how they doing it
fictional characters don't have a real age to begin with the only things that age are arrays of pixels and graphite
I guess nobody will have enough balls to protest against this.
They're trying to "protect children" from viewing porn, including drawn porn. I see, that's something else. Why the fuck does this include private possession of the material, then?
now lets ban it everywhere in europe
Right, so now pedophiles have to use harmful CP to get their relief. Good going France.
Its the same thing as trying to ban violent video games... Its a depiction of something real. People want to ban video games because they depict murders among other things. France wanted to (and did) ban lolicon because its a depiction of pedophilia in their eyes.
it's fine to think lolicon is weird and creepy 'n all that but do you really think that should be grounds for making anything illegal? even when it doesn't directly harm anyone? before someone gives me slack on saying that artists might abuse children in to being models or whatever, the artist is the problem. not the art
