Hi facepunch,
So I'm interested in purchasing one of the Cinema 4D programs and I wanted to know if there were any users of them here that could tell me a thing or two about it. Even before I download a trial I just want to know if it's good for the two things I will be using it for primarily, which consist of:
a.) Computer Generated Images in movies [I think it should be good at that]
b.) Modeling for games, primarily on the Source Engine
So if there's any users of Cinema 4D products on facepunch, please tell me about it and if I should get it. I have enough money for it [I've accumulated about $1,200 so far] Keep in mind that I don't have much experience in 3d modeling, I have just recently dabbed into it.

If you sign up as a student at Autodesk's website, you can download their latest software free of charge and use them for two years. 3ds Max does modeling well, and I use it for converting models to Source. It does quite well with CGI, too, so maybe you should look into it.

See, I would give that a try if I could, but sadly, I'm on a Mac and 3ds Max isn't compatible with my system. I can't just run bootcamp with it either because I don't have a copy of windows.

It's cheaper to get windows and free 3ds Max then Cinema 4D
