This is my first build but I have a good idea of what I want. Here is what I came up with so far: http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/2ef649321dfc40c498a8c5cdc45cfe58 Im using it mainly for gaming. I plan on overclocking the Cpu as high as I can, getting another 570 before battlefield 3 comes out and probably getting ivy bridge when its released. The 23.6" monitor is for gaming and the 22" is for internet and my xbox. What do you guys think? [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] Also these speakers http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?prodID=B462276
If you want to use ivy bridge, just way till its released.
I dont want it that badly but I'd like it as an upgrade option.
Ivy bridge will use socket 2011, but should be backwards compatible. It's just better to wait.
Id rather not wait with the PC I'm using atm. OT: Is the build ok, do I need to change anything?
for one thing, you don't need a 950w PSU, period.
Ivy bridge will use socket 2011, but should be backwards compatible. It's just better to wait.
no it won't sandy bridge -> ivy bridge see a connection? if not look more closely if you still don't then do basic research 2011 is Sandy Bridge-E
You don't need a fan with green LEDs in it get a red one.
I was going to but they're out of stock. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
for one thing, you don't need a 950w PSU, period.
What is the most I will need if I'm sli-ing 2 570's
maybe a 750 at most? Most of my computer is overclocked and has the same/better stats than yours, and i'm using a 650w.
Ok, I think I'll go with [del]this[/del] This
When Ivy comes in whatever year, my 2500k wont be outdated for years, right?
What is the most I will need if I'm sli-ing 2 570's
750w will work but 850w gives you headroom for overclocking, better efficiency, longer life etc.
What do you guys think of the mobo? Would I be better off with Z68?
That's a PSU, lol. Get Z68 if you plan on using a SSD
Interesting motherboard, I must say.

[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
Interesting motherboard, I must say.
Its silverstone mobo, but your too mainstream to have heard of them
Yes.

It doesn't have to be branded SLI capable to be able to support SLI.
Considering going with this then: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-p8z68-v-pro-intel-z68-s-1155-pci-e-20-(x16)-ddr3-2200(oc)-sata-6gb-s-raid-atx-hdmi [editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
This Corsair PSU is cheaper and according to that site it supports SLI while the one you selected does not.
