There's a Potato in my Refridgerator, and I didn't put it there.

Ok, where to start...
I woke up today, around 10 AM.
Of course, it is natural for one to feel hungry in the morning, so I slowly shamble my way into the kitchen.
As I make my way to the fridge, I notice I didn't lock the door last night. No worries, I think to myself.
I'm at the fridge.
Open the door, and what do I see:

I'm fairly certain it was a friend, I just haven't got to asking yet. So, anyone else been visited by a potato fairy?
Oh, and do you think it would be safe to fry this thing?
