The Iron Dome rocket defense system intercepted a projectile over Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening. No injuries or damage were reported.
The Code Red siren sounded in all of Gush Dan, including the central Israeli cities of Petah Tikva, Lod and Givatayim.
It was the first Gaza rocket that reached Tel Aviv since Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012.

I'll update the thread when more info comes through. Just got a message from my sister and apparently the sirens didn't last long and have stopped now.
What are they fighting over?
The only thing the sirens are for is for people to watch the fireworks Iron Dome will create :v:

Iron Dome is a wonderful thing, if you live in Israel. If you're the one launching rockets, it's not so wonderful.

horseshit

The rockets are cheaper to launch than the Iron dome missiles cost.

The value of that innocent child it saves is much higher then the value of the iron dome.
Even its shooting down a makeshift rocket that cost 10 bucks, it saved the innocent life that no value can be placed on

Yeah but the rockets cost a fraction of the cost of an iron dome missiles. You could easily have Israel waste millions of dollars a day on missiles for almost nothing.
I can't speak for Hamas, but part of Al-Qaidas plan was to "bleed out" the United States economically by waging an endless war with unprecedented cost.

Israel has more money to spend, anyway.

Thankfully the system only intercepts missiles that are a danger, it ignores any heading to fields and the like.
I wonder if the iron dome could be confused if the rockets spewed out chaffs.

Some books that a few retards wrote in the past

The alternative to the Iron Dome is most likely invading Gaza and the West Bank, and forcing people to pack their bags and get out.
Even with that, we'd still have Hamas launching shit outta Lebanon or Egypt.

Most likely not, the systems in our Tamir (interceptor missiles) missiles work via RF arrays, completed with heat signature tracking and visible target tracking via cameras (for each missile).
Sirens have gone off in Tel Aviv for a second time.
Again, it was intercepted by Iron Dome.

The missile, which operates within the atmosphere and maneuvers using fins and body lift, receives guidance command from Iron Dome’s control center until it is close enough to its target to home in on it using a radar seeker on the missile itself. A proximity-fused explosive warhead, triggered by an active laser fuze, is then used to destroy the target.

I love Iron Dome. Videos of it from back in 2012 when it was raining Hamas missiles are pretty beautiful.
showers of rockets going on right now, I hear an iron dome interception every few seconds, a lot of alarms in tel aviv and more far north

It's more about nationalism than religion.
I thought it was a dispute about land ownership
I thought it was a dispute about land ownership
And who owns it, Israelis or Palestinians.
It's not a matter of planting the flag of Judiasm or Islam over it, but of those two.
and I was just thinking what it'd be like to move to Tel Aviv...

People use religion to further their political ambitions the world over.
Look at Muhammed he was basically just a conqueror.
Look at the crusades, they even sacked other christians just coz.
Look at afghanistan, the US encouraged radical islam and violent jihad as a means to outing the soviets.
Look at Chechnya, they united under islam but then turned to islamism as they began to invade surrounding area.
Look at whats happening in Iraq at the moment.
Wahhabism is basically just politicised islam, their leaders aren't the most pious they are the most effective politicans and fighters.
