Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has dismissed reports the government is planning to allow nude weddings.
He was asked if a change in the law was being considered as part of a review of marriage laws.
"Not as far as I'm aware and I've certainly no intention of doing so," he told the BBC's Sunday Politics show.
The government was looking into humanist marriages in England and Wales, he said.
Humanism is a secular philosophy. Humanist weddings are not legally recognised in England, Wales and Northern Ireland - but they are legal in Scotland.
Why am I not surprised :v:
why shouldn't someone be allowed to do this? aren't most wedding ceremonies held in private spaces

Cause we're awesome.
Doesn't it get a bit chilly in Scotland?

Can do, more importantly it rains so fucking much man, I cannot imagine how shit a nude wedding in the rain would be.
Why would it be a problem? I'm not going to scream human rights abuses, but I don't see the big deal about nudists wanting to have nudist wedding ceremonies. Does what you wear, or what you don't, define the ceremony, or is it the symbolism and intentions behind it?
I think it's less nude weddings aren't allowed, more this 'humanism' belief thing isn't recognised
So you can have a wedding wearing all sorts of ridiculous garb but when you want to wear nothing at all it's not OK?
Well, it's not very holy is it
All them bits swinging about
I'm sure it's still possible to have your own nude wedding. Just do it at home, then apply for a marriage license separately.
Technically its not really a nude wedding as soon as they put on the rings

Well at least you won't get your clothes wet.
They're gonna rip each other's clothes off later that night anyway, why hold them up 2 minutes?
wear socks only
fuck the system

Would insure the groom to not get cold feet!

god can see all private spaces and will judge us!

Wait does this mean secular marriages aren't a thing in England?

I'm not even sure I understand how it is strictly secular. Being a nudist doesn't mean you can't also be a Christian, Catholic, or whatever.

Probably better than getting your clothes soaked.
if you disagree with nudism, it's because you have a tiny willy
-snip-
I feel like I'm pretty attractive, I'd love for this to be a thing.
The Trois are going to be so disappointed.

I just don't particularly want to see anyone else's unsolicted naked body.

Small dick detected.

tiny johnson
ITT everyone misreads the OP and confuses humanism, a branch of secularist philosophical thought, with the completely unrelated concept of nudism
Fuck you, UK. I'll do whatever I want.

Got to make sure the traditional kilt flashing ceremony isn't illegal.
[editline]20th January 2015[/editline]
That's when the groom and his male friends prove they're not wearing anything their kilts.
