Asus VG248QE Monitor and studdering fps on browser and ingame etc

So I just bought a Asus VG248QE Monitor, but Im having studdering fps issues while I look at skype or firefox etc. When Im ingame, if I alt tab an tab back in it seems I have issues with the it dropping to 25-35FPS. I also changed the monitor hz from 60 to 144 from desktop. And its studdering off an on. My friend told me its a driver issue.

Surely isn't a monitor issue...

Wipe your video drivers and reinstall them.
