probably legal fees and lobbying
They were paying a bunch of fines for their drivers caught operating "illegally" by transport inspectors too.
Just last week the news was they are investing 1 billion dollars in India, and now they are operating at a lost...

iirc they pay for insurance for some of their drivers, plus they pay for the fines that their drivers receive.
and imagine how this wouldn't be a problem if the taxi industry wasn't literally terrible.

I'm not sure if this is a typo or not.
It's too bad because I really liked the idea of their service.
I've used Uber in Melbourne and it was fantastic, I would've been lost without them.
