Wall of sycophantic Democratic Senators ready to throw away domestic interests in favor of foreign and to secure their political future (missing one) US Senators back new sanctions, aides say
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an advocacy group with strong ties to many lawmakers, has said it supports new sanctions that would take effect if Iran violates the interim pact or does not agree to an "acceptable" comprehensive deal. The bill seeks to cut Iran's oil exports to zero two years after implementation. It also puts limits on the Obama administration's ability to waive sanctions. There is tough resistance to the measure by many other Democrats, however. A bloc of 10 Democratic senators, all leaders of committees, sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid last month expressing their opposition to the bill. The aide said more support could come soon from the bloc of Democrats. "At least two that I know of are inching toward public support for the bill," the aide said on condition of anonymity, given the sensitivity of the talks. There has been no public indication from any of the 10 that they were leaning toward shifting position on the issue. Nine senior foreign policy experts, including Ryan Crocker, a former ambassador to Israel and the United Nations, this week urged Menendez and Kirk to rescind the bill, saying it could potentially push the United States closer to war.
Keeping in mind Iran is a backwards theocracy, I understand their skepticism. Still I think that negotiating a deal is the more rational solution in this case, seeing that hostility will do nothing but breed more extremists.
But how can we bring ourselves to trust Iran?
now what exactly is this going to accomplish?

I don't think it will pass, 10 committee leaders are against it in the senate alone. But anyway foreigners lobbying to influence foreign policy should be banned. I don't like Israel fucking with our government like this
We're going from not speaking to Iran for 40 years to creating diplomatic relations. This nuclear deal is baby steps, I think we'll be able to get more accomplished with Iran over the coming years.
As if Iran is going to give up any nuclear weapons it already has, and on top of the deal getting over 4 billion dollars from countries. I think the whole thing is pointless, but it's even more pointless to try and stop it for no reason. Nothing BAD can come of it happening you idiots, only good, even if it's insignificantly small

All you're doing is making another enemy, shitting on Iran is just giving them another reason to side with Russia/China.
But how can we bring ourselves to trust Iran?
Why should Iran trust the US?
Iran is literally on the verge of another revolt because of the effects of the sanctions.
Where did you hear this?
As if Iran is going to give up any nuclear weapons it already has
You don't have a single fact to back any of that bullshit up. Meanwhile, Israel has around 400 secret nuclear weapons.
Why should Iran trust the US indeed? Especially after what the US and the UK did to Iran in the 1950s.
Why should Iran trust the US indeed? Especially after what the US and the UK did to Iran in the 1950s.
the issue with the 1950's coup is complicated. say that mossadegh remained in power and ended up becoming aligned with the soviet union. aside from the potential effects on western economies due to a loss of oil imports (and the potential ensuing poverty and loss of social/scientific progress), communist regimes for the time period pretty much always followed stalin and mao's blueprints for the structuring of a nation. with that in mind, stalinist and maoist governments have committed far more heinous acts and done far worse things to people than a western society could ever afford to get away with. if the domino theory is to be believed (evidenced by the spread of communism in southeast asia), widespread communism in the middle east could have easily made the place far worse than it currently is, which would have complicated the issue of israel to a massive degree. does any of this justify the actions of the west? not really. in a perfect world, you wouldn't have to do things like this - but we don't live in a perfect world.
Democratic left wing governments and left wing governments that seize power through force have radically different end results.

If they did, they'd speak about the pinnacle of their technological advancement.
You don't have a single fact to back any of that bullshit up. Meanwhile, Israel has around 400 secret nuclear weapons.
And a converted secret sub carrying ICBM's
And a converted secret sub carrying ICBM's
Made and given to them as a gift by the Germans, no less.
Democratic left wing governments and left wing governments that seize power through force have radically different end results.
and democracies can be promptly overthrown by radicals, or corrupted by outside influence.
