• Generations aren't going downhill. It's just you.

Inspired by recent threads I'd just like to throw my opinion on the whole subject of today's "Children" media ruining the growing generations. First off what do you think has happened since the dawn of mankind? Every generation is going to misunderstand one another and misinterpret change with an attack on our youth. I've seen many people trying to point out that oh Disney's corrupting our youth, well what do you think previous generations thought of Ren And Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead (To some extent ofcourse it being an Adult Cartoon), and show's such as Rocko's modern life. Many people in their time saw these show's as degrading to our youth which couldn't be further from the truth. They are entertaining show's which gave children something to do on a Saturday morning other than watch their Parent's rip each others fucking throats out. If anything I'd say that Channel's such as Disney have been promoting the same messages promoting good morals albeit in a different form to match the ever changing times. Long story short change does not equal bad morals and being a Jack Thompson of children's media just makes you look like an idiot. Edit: Ofcourse I know other's think the same way, but that isn't to say there aren't people who don't. Edit # 2: Okay some people don't seem to be getting the point of this thread. It isn't a personal attack on you but rather a personal attack on the Bigotry that I've seen personally. Don't get so offended.
We all know this. (hey guys, the sky is round and the earth is blue)
You're right. Although I liked my generation the bestestest. :saddowns:
the best time to grow up is when you were growing up, no matter when you were born. the end.
Disney is different though because it isquite simply horrible humor and retarded plots
Everything was better when YOU where 12 years old. And that's how it always will be.
OP obviously thinks he's the only one that's thought of this.
wait, wait, wait. I change? holy shit.
OP obviously thinks he's the only one that's thought of this.
Wrong, but I sure as hell know there are people who disagree with me.

The notice that Gen Y/Z is bad has been picked up by a lot of people, mostly because of the constant communication between one another. One small thing that my generation does wrong, and it's publicized everywhere. Suddenly we're branded as the "bad" generation and scrutinized because of one or two people. The good isn't nearly as widespread as the bad.
Not everybody on Facepunch is painfully obvious. It's just you.

However I don't think the Baby Boomer generation as a whole will ever come to accept things such as Rap music and that's just one of the fact's of life.
I blame the hippies, we had a good thing going on until they came into the scene.
Nope not all generations are as smart as i was back then.

The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers.

Each generation is always going to think that the next generation's kid's shows have declined.
